Back of Knee Pain - Need Help for 72 Year Old Mother

Back of knee pain and low back pain resulting from that for my 72 yr old mom.

Am looking for some urgent help for my 72 yr old mom who had a fall in February....her back of the knee is swollen...and it's taking a lot of time to solve it via physiotherapy...we tried cold packs still the swelling exists and the pain has extended to her lower back.

This whole episode has rendered a change of posture jn her walking style which is adding more to her back pain. Is there anything she can try out to get relief?

Simik,

She can try a topical pain reliever called Stopain rollon. Apply to the area of pain behind the knee and on the sides of the knee. Also apply directly to the lower spine and on either side of the lower spine. Here is a link to the product that is available at most Walgreens and Walmart :

Can you find a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncturist and herbalist to take her to? I had a bad knee injury from a ski accident this winter - worst knee injury I ever had (couldn't put any weight on my leg - had to use the elevator bc I couldn't do steps) - I took Blood and Qi moving herbs and no lie, within 24-48 hours all the swelling was gone and I was walking fine. CRAZY - considering how long it took me to recover from a less severe knee injury when I was in high school - 20+ years ago.

Simik, we have noticed that rubbing Castor Oil onto the area helps. A Castor Oil pack might help even more.
