Vitamin B12 Injections Caused Chronic Acne Issues, Please Help

Posted By Queenofbones (United Kingdom) on 08/10/2017

Dear Earth clinic, I just found your website and am so pleased to have done so, I wonder if you may be able to help me/ have come across an issue I have.

Last year for 6 months I injected vitamin B12 hydroxocobalamin in believing that my disabilities could be misdiagnosed B12 deficiency, a B12 specialist urged me to do so.

A week into my injections, I got extremely bad acne, having had clear skin before even through my teens. After 6 months and no change I decided to stop the injections and see if there were any changes, there were none so I decided to stop them completely and concentrate in other areas. that was over 4 months ago now, and my acne is still really bad, I also have acne cysts now but the majority of my face is covered in spots that won't go away.

Every time I read about my situation it states that 2 weeks after discontinuing B12 the acne goes away, this is not been my case nor has it been many other I have spoken to. Nothing I find relates to helping my kind of acne, and how to fix it. if you have any suggestions I would be very grateful. kind regards.

I just googled your question and found someone talking about how the body is healing with the B-12 so in that process it is also using more restorative nutrients. Like zinc, folate, other B vitamins and so I would try a nice multi vitamin to complement the work the B -12 is doing . Blessings, Charity

In addition to a good Multivitamin/Mineral supplement suggested by Charity, the amino acid Methionine works as a co-factor with B-12/Folic Acid in a variety of biochemical reactions including methylation, detoxification, and lipid metabolism. 500 -1000mg daily would be therapeutic dose.
