Age Spots an Immune Issue?
Age Spots an Immune Issue?Posted By Mixed girl (Washington DC) on 01/15/2021
I’m wondering if age spots and wrinkles are an immune issue and if it is caused by weakening immune system as we age. This idea just hit me. The skin is an organ critical to our immunity. Younger people with younger skin are less likely to have them. Maybe sun damages us over the long haul (especially if you dont have darker skin like type IV). Its not that african, south asians, necessarily have a better skin, it's that their skin might have a stronger immunity due sun damage due to high melananin levels.
I'm just offering a conjecture. Totally unsure about this. I’m of multigenerational mixed ancestry, 47 and have beige skin but after being in the carribean 3 years ago, I now got sun spots, slight brow wrinkle, sudden onset of huge amounts of big freckles, redness/pimples on cheeks.
