Advice needed on coughing up blood from lungs

Posted By Peggy (Bainbridge Island, Wa, Usa) on 07/03/2011

I have had this problem for many years without it being solved. I am prone to bronchitis but whether I have it or not, I often cough up blood. Sometimes I can go weeks without, sometimes it is a very small amount, sometimes quite a bit with clots. I have been on countless rounds of antibiotics which just about destroyed my digestive system so I don't want to go there again. The doctors really don't know what is wrong and I have pretty much given up on them.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My mother coughs up blood on occasion and she was told for years that she had emphysema. A specialist finally diagnosed her with bronchiectasis. Here is a link that gives info. About the disease. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001199/

My mother is not really open to natural remedies, so she uses the antibiotics when she gets an infection and an inhaler to try to keep from getting an infection. I would love to have her try HP inhalation therapy. Good luck to you.

I'm not sure how much this will help but I get bronchial pneumonia on a fairly regular basis. I can cure it up in just a few days (3-5) by taking Elderberry. I take the capsules that I get from the health food store, only I take more than recommended on the container. Experiment to find the dosage that is best for you.
