Compounding Zinc Acetate and ManganeseQuestion by Debbie (Ettalong, Nsw, Australia) on 11/01/2009

In practice, I wouldn't worry too much about the zinc acetate, if I can get a commercially available supplements , in the form of zinc gluconate. As to compounding manganese, the form is in manganese, and the common excipients or inert material I used is mannitol, which is a polyol sugar. However, precision is really not required for taking of manganese, as it is not taken daily. The dose can be measured on a teaspoon and the measurement might still be off, but that's not critical since the dose is taken only for days, at 1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon depending on the seriousness of a condition or type of condition. In the event of a hair loss, this is easy. I will continue to take it until the hair loss stops and no more manganese. If there is no result, I just continue for the dose for a couple of days more not exceeding 4 or 5 days. Both zinc and manganese therefore is not taken everyday and hence approximate calculations will do, not exceeding for any mineral supplements to two weeks at which time, I usually take any supplements usually for one week, but if improvement continues to show maybe, two weeks, but this rarely happens. Most of the problem I encounted of taking most frequently are the water soluble vitamins, which the body can't store and hence are lost rather quickly. The sodium molybdate, is also taken for only one to two weeks, but mostly one week, usually to improve night time vision, if I have trouble seeing in the dark.

The sodium molybdate is taken at 1/16th teaspoon once per day for about a week or two should be fine. A zinc acetate is taken at 1/16 also for only a week -more like 5 days. Thereafter it's taken once a week and after a week, the zinc maybe perhaps taken once or twice a month. It should be remembered that you can't easily raise zinc, molybdenum and manganese if you were to buy them in supplement forms. I have seen this problem for too long. If it's taken pure as is, in zinc acetate, sodium molybdate and manganese sulfate, the absorption is fine and hence the mineral absorption is there. Zinc gluconate may require larger amounts, compared to zinc acetate, and it's roughly 1/8 teaspoon. As for CFS, check to make sure blood sugar and weight gain is not your problem, otherwise we have to get that blood sugar down. The easiest way is granulated lecithin 1 tablespoon twice a day and no food after 5 p.m. The food is taken with lots of water during meal. CFS caused may be caused by Epstein Barr Virus. Hence, some antiviral supplements, not just zinc alone, but chromium chloride - a 20% solution, is taken at a 5-10 drops a day, plus twice daily of a strong white tea, which is a powerful diuretic that flushes out excess sugar. CFS has another issue besides virus and blood sugar, and that is iodine deficiency. The best method is to mix a powdered form of vitamin C 500-1000 mg during the evening hours in a cup of warm water, with just one drop of lugol's solution. It' will normalize sleep patterns and drive out bromine, fluorine, chlorine over time. However, iodine is contraindicated if a person were already taking thyroxine or thyroid supplements, since the iodine caues the thyroid to produce it's own hormones naturally. Hence, the iodine will likely replace thyroxine. If it's taken both, a person will get agitated and nervous easily. The cause is not iodine, since it's an essential mineral. The problem is the thyroxine which is more like walking on clutches. Since when do cows run around and eat thyroid extract. They simply eat natural minerals that comes from their diets. CFS requires magnesium supplements 250-500 mg per day, in the form of magnesium citrate or magnesium chloride, which is the ones I used most frequently. However a chloride of any form, including magnesium chloride, cannot be taken along with an alkaline supplements such as baking soda as it causes diarrhea. Unless of course you wanted to cure a constipation. Both malic acid and magnesium supplements are needed, but the amount of malic acid needed by a person with CFS runs closer to between 1 teaspoon to one or two tablespoon of malic acid. We add some amount of baking soda so to neutralize the excessive acidity and make it less sour, so it won't be too hard on the stomach. The magnesium/malic acid is one of the common remedies I used, along with perhaps a weekly or twice weekly vitamin B complex. Iodine is also antiviral and is taken during the evening hours with the vitamin C. As to a very bad sinus problem, it should be noted that if the esophagus/nose/ear/throat area is acid, it brings about constriction of blood vessels, causing sinus too. Hence both potassium bicarbonate, potassium citrate, usually 1/4 teaspoon in a 1/2 to 1 glass of water, with sodium citrate 1/4 teaspoon is taken twice a day, preferably after meals by 1 or 2 hours. The potassium and the iodine should help alkalize that area, and the pH can be tested by measuring the saliva pH ideally at 7.3. If it's below 7 for a saliva, it's usually some sort of imbalance. If the saliva pH is below 6, then teeth damage and cavities are extensive and the cause is actually the acid saliva and bacteria that's dissolving your teeth because we have just created an environment to digest our teeth enamel! If we can alkalize mouth, it helps the sinus. I have experience about sinus, also if not enough vitamin C is not taken. But for vitamin C, we need constant intake of this, because it's a water soluble vitamin, such as the B complex. The minerals is one of those supplements we need not take regularly because it tends to accumulate if taken too much or for too long of a period. As to gray hair, both vitamin B complex and especially vitamin C whose dose is about 2000 mg per day for at least 3-4 months plus weekly b complex and perhaps sodium copper chlorophyllin, which raises the copper levels to help reduce graying of hair, by taking that chlorophyll supplements. What dose, depends. If it's a liquid form, concentrated one perhaps 5-10 drops, taken for about 3 months, more or less depending on whether gray hair are reduced or not. Manganese is just as important, but so is PABA supplements to help reduce gray hair.
