Most Kangen machines tend to increase negative hydrogen. This can easily be produced by actually bubbling a hydrogen gas into the drinking water and consuming that, but hydrogen gas, in parts per billion has an unusual healing properties, up to parts per million. This can easily proven with an Oxidation Reduction Potential meters, which will easily register on average about -800 millivolts. The other thing is Kangen water seems to separate the "bad" water from the "good water", So if I live somewhere in Canada or U.S., where water is high in chlorination and fluoridation and where ordinary Reverse Osmosis can't get those remove (they theoretically are close to distilled water anyway), the oxidation side, you may notice the water smell bad, which is obvious because all the chlorines and then some is on that side, while the more alkaline, less halogens (including the benficial iodine) is on the other, so you get "good" water. The biggest downside to Kangen water is the price of the filtering device and replacement parts and they tend to cause as much as the machines. Some who can't afford it may have problems so a workaround is to buy a commercial mineral water and add vitamin C with baking soda to get the ORP of roughly -250 to -350 millvolts. Of course, we can get more mineral content, by adding 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt per drinking water also. This applies to distilled water, which lack minerals, and hence has to be reconstituted with the mineral rich sea salt. In fact sea salt has more mineral content then an ordinary drinking water, assuming we add 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt per drinking water.
