I wouldn't try Apple cider vinegar for UTI. I would prefer to mixed 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt an mixed with food. And add at least 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt per drinking of liter of water, or if I do care enough the dog, I would use green tea (no sugar, no fructose and no milk). If there is any fruits I would use, pomegranate mixed into the food will help.
In my experience the dog should be o.k. within a couple of hours.Replied by Tracy (Omaha, Nebraska) on 07/12/2008
If your dog had been on antibiotics for a long period of time you need to replenish the good bacteria in the body because antibiotics kill all of the bacteria, good and bad. Some suggestions for that are kefier yogurt with no added sugar 1 Tbsp twice daily with food or probiotics. This might not cure the bladder issues by itself but it will definately help!
