Terrible Head Scaling, Very Itchy, Possible Mold Issue

Question by Dani (Boca Raton, Florida) on 05/31/2006

I am 39, thin and a female, bodybuilder. I first started noticing a problem about 2 1/2 years ago. I became allergic to makeup, and beauty products. My eyes would swell up. I remembered being allergic to formeldehyde in nail polish when I was 20, so I began to study the ingredients in all my products. I studied all the different names for formeldehyde ( which is used as a preservative in so many popular beauty products ). Imadazolydinal urea, urea, DMDM hydantoin, quaternium 15, Cinnamal, and Geraniol were in most department store and drug store items...shampoos, lotions, and makeup. Whatever sits on your skin all day is worse than something you wash off like shampoo, but that is not good either for your head. I began purchasing only all natural, nonchemical products. This cured my eyes, but I have terrible head scaling...chunks of dead skin come off in sheets and large flakes. Very itchy, and I seem to dig at it. Also at this same time I first began to notice my head itch, I was staying in a remodeled condo which had previously had a bad mold problem. There were new walls, and carpet installed because of mold when I stayed there for a month, sleeping on the new carpet on the floor. Could this have started the problem I now buy all organic products from health food stores. I read all labels, and avoid chemicals as much as possible. Maybe a lot of people who have SB are alllergic to chemicals in their hair, or skin products, causing the original problem here ( SD ). Many commercial hair remedy shampoos have the chemicals I mentioned here !! Worsening , or actually causing the problem !! Nizoral has quaternium 15 etc etc. Read labels, and use holistic cures !! I have not been able to resolve this. Tee tree oil makes my head peel!

New carpets have either formaldehyde, molds and mites which accumulates and sticks to new carpet during remodeling. It is frustrating to know that companies don't try to neutralize these chemicals on carpets they remodeled. After extensive research I found that a chemical that does neutralize formaldehyde on new carpets is actually ammonia. A Bo-Peep cleaning product diluted sufficiently with water should be able to neutralize the formaldehyde build up at the same time reduce some molds. Ammonia also kills molds too. Try to avoid the ammonia vapor and follow instructions of proper use on the product. I

Skin peeling on my face of head is a result of fungus going deep into the skin. This is why you dig when it itches. The skin tries to remove the fungus by creating a new skin, due to either the irritation of the fungus or certain microscopic insect yet unidentified. (I think researchers these days are getting lazy about discovering these all too common bugs we see in hotels, motels, resorts, etc.) So if the issue is indeed fungus and insect, it appears that you can reduce the usage of tea tree and use less frequently and replace these with boric acid solution (maybe 10% -20%) you can use sodium perborate also. The boric acid (or borax, or sodium perborate) kills both the insects (whatever they are) and at the same time kills the fungus and molds. Tea tree does this too, but I doubt about its effectiveness in killing the insects.

Only orange oils does this, but it irritates the skin. Insects are commonly found on floors and carpets too, but they are so microscopic that you won't see it, but you will feel it crawling under your skin, but it is very very less noticeable on the scalp if you compare to other parts of the body. Boron will is actually a birth control device that prevents insect from laying egg and it also causes them to be dehydrated.

Your condition of allergy is an interesting one. The liver simply can no longer detoxify whatever chemical toxins that it used to. I used to have bad skin condition due to toxic chemical buildup in the liver. There are many ways to detox. For me I just take a couple of drops of food grade H2O2 3% (3-6 drops) per glass of water and drink it. On the other hand another simple way to detox your body is to take 6-10 drops of sodium thiosulfate (they sell this in fish shops and referred to as dechlorinator - for some reason or another they don't make it available for humans!). This detox differently from H2O2, but used it alternatively is best. The third way to detox, but usually it is the heavy metals is the use of MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) which is really helpful too. The sulfur compounds are a magnet for toxic heavy metals and some other things. You would not be surprise that you have more than 500 toxic chemical in your body now!

The other that I now make a requirement to detox is all those pseudoestrogen compounds and dioxin (TCDD) commonly found in consumer products and some other really liver killing chemicals, these are so important. For some reason the authorities "claimed" there is no antidote for dioxin (TCDD) and pseudoestrogen! You can check on google and try this on your search engine: Dioxin antidote. Is there a conspiracy here The antidote is actually partially cooked brocolli, especially. Cabbage is another good source. However in your condition it appears that you are desperate, so I would go for the antidote for these hormonal disruptors using the major component of brocolli, which is indole-3-carbinol.

Finally a more natural way you can detox many of them, which is simply taking 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, taken once in the morning and once before sleep on an empty stomach. Just mix that with 1/2 glass of water. For some reason or another this causes the body to rid of toxins generally heavy metals faster. The reaction of citric acid and baking soda results in a by-product called sodium citrate which reduces inflammation from free radical heavy metals.

Doing the above for at least 2-3 weeks should help reduce your allergy. If none works then just try fulvic acid, this works too by balancing mineral compounds in your body and reduce from free radicals. Most bodybuilders have issues about their pH, which is quite acidic, so sod loading of 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of potassium citrate (1/16 teaspoon) in 1/2 glass of water will help. Certain amino acids that I now recommend to reduce lactic acid buildup which destroy muscle and heart cells that I favor is L-Carnosine. Not well known in sports medicine, but it will be important issue in the future. Skin peeling will usually persists but this is o.k. as body tries to rid of fungus. You can assist this by the mentioned borax rinse. Then after the rinse you can peraps apply some oils, which is the use of lavender mixed with some natural vitamin E and ALOE VERA oil applied to the area of the peeling. The mix should be that most of the component should be lavender be more and vitamin E, and aloe vera to help cell's recover should be no more than 20% of the formula. Ted
