How to Prevent Miscarriage

Question by Would Be Aunt (Anonymous) on 12/11/2011

good evening Ted, I would like your advice for my sister, if you dont mind. she is pregnant, 5 weeks. she has IBS, lots of acidity, and spotting from blood before pregnancy. now she is feeling nauseous, dizzy and feels feverish. She doesn't want to take milk (because of leaky gut issues and lot of gas) but her doctor asked her to. Doctor also advised to take Duphaston tablets (to bring hormones into the body and hold the feotus otherwise it may lead to miscarriage as it is early pregnancy). Also she had prescribed Folic Acid and B6.

My sister from past experience, doesnt want to take these hormonal tablets, can you please advise what she should take during the initial stages of pregnancy god bless you and your family for your help.

IBS is usually taken care of with a single dose of 1 teaspoon of sea salt in a cup of water. The acidity problems, you can neutralize most of it after meals with sodium bicarbonate with some lime, which makes it more palatable. The vitamin C taken 250 mg hourly for 6 hours, usually helps in such conditions of nausea, since there is lack of vitamin C in pregnant women, but also the lysine. Miscarriage is more to do with homocysteine being high and is most effectively reduced with betaine, with meals in form of betaine hydrochloride, about 1/4 teaspoon, thereafter B50 is taken to help the liver. Vitamin C and betaine are the main elements to prevent early miscarriage and deformity, while folic acid and B6 are seen as helpful, but what is not known is B2 is helpful in the methylation also.

thank you so much for your response, Ted. it means a lot to my family. My sister has the following queries after reading your response:

1. She used to take ascorbic acid Vit c (the powder). it was very strong and only 1/4 tsp daily eventually gave her alot of burning sensation in the stomach areas. she stopped it after that. do you think it is safe for her to take now, as she is complaining of increasing pain in stomach in the evening, in spite of having meals regularly the pain is such, she is unable to do any activity like walking, working around the house etc.

2. She has started getting brown spotting 3-4 times a day for past one week. What would you advise for this (the doctor said its normal, but she is worried)

3. She has very foul smelling breath and sweat. her clothes and body smell within an hour after taking a bath. What could be the reason for this will taking B 50, lysine, betaine hydrochloride help these issues What is the quantity of vitamins she should take daily

May god bless you and your family."

12/17/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "1. The burning ascorbic acid is acidity, you can neutralized that with some baking soda, and by using less ascorbic acid. Say 1/4 baking soda and halve the doses of ascorbic acid, such as 1/8 teaspoon and one cup of water.

2. That's probably lipofucsin and liver enzymes detoxing out of the system. There may be some constipation. Baking soda should helped but is taken after meals 1/4 teaspoon once or twice a day in a glass of water or half glass if too much. It will detox by alkalization, some lipofucsin can be reduced with DMAE, although I don't see the value of this used as a supplement, not yet, However acetyl L carnitine 500 mg twice a day with N acetyl cysteine may help.

3. Possibly 2 things, B50 and betaine, but is not that extreme, such as yours. It means the lack of potassium in the body, lack of alkalization and constipation (minimum bowel movements is 2 day) and take plenty of water with meals. The alkalization I mentioned, but the foul smells would be most attributable also to taking too much betaine hcl, try take less of this, say 1/8 teaspoon once a day should reduce it. B50 is taken once a day or twice day. I have not had problems with lysine.
