Can Ted Please Clarify His Remedies for Alopecia?

Question by Wanda (Mcdonough, Ga) on 07/14/2010

Ted, I am not clear about your suggestions for hair baldness. I think I am iodine deficient one reason being my dad has a scrap iron and junk car business at his house so I grew up around all of the metal, etc. I want to do the iodine painting so could you explain it some more because I don't understand it at all. You mentioned tea tree oil, lavendar oil etc; how should it be taken and which one do you recommend more so than the other

Someone mentioned using vinegar but it made their hair come out so could you explain that

For my baldness, I'm thinking about trying iodine supplements and tea tree oil or vinegar. Thank you.

You say hair loss is due to a fungus. I have had hair loss for almost a year now. I has gotten worse. If it is a fungus , is it contagious if you share brushes. I have three little girls and I would be devastated to see them go through what I am going through. What do you recommend cleaning hair brushes with

There are a couple of antifungal remedies you can try, the reason why is that some supplies are hard to find in the U.S.

A borax can be prepared by mixing 1 glass of water with 1 tablespoon of borax, stir, and leave it for 30 minutes. I think ammonium chloride works better, but is hard to find. For this remedy, 1 glass of water with 1 tablespoon of ammonium chloride added to it works and the brushes can be left for 5 minutes or more in a solution. The third is to use a solution of H2O2 3% and put in a brush of 2-5 minutes is also good. The hydrogen peroxide cannot be reused, however, and you must do it everytime you wash your hair. Even dandruff is a fungus and was discovered in the early 1900 which is why manufacturers used antifungal medication. There are others but these are the simplest.

Hydrogen Peroxide 3% is obtained from drug stores. Ammonium chloride probably fertilizers shops and borax is Ten Mule Team borax.
