Any Remedy to Stop Itch in Nose

I have a very itchy nose, inside as well as right outside the nose (on the crease)! My problem is that I can't stop scratching, so it won't stop itching!!! My ENT said it's fungal, and in the past has put me on antifungal Nystatin (piils and cream) Is there anything you can recommend so I won't have to take medication I just mixed some salt and warm water to make a paste for the outside, but what can I put inside to stop the itch HELP!

Dear Celene: Lavender oil, isopropyl alcohol, or both can be applied to the outer nose to stop itching. Sea salt will help both inside an outside, but inside you need a more dilute solution of the salt between 5-10% concentration if it is to be used inside. Try inhaling lavender oil, or eucalyptus oil as this will indirectly kill the viruses from inside the nose. In some cases applying vinegar to the outside nose will reduce itching. If they do consider drinking ACV 2 tablespoon + 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda twice a day to further reduces it such itchiness.

It is said that MSM (methyl sulfonyl methane) destroys fungus/yeast cells, so supplementing this may help. Of course a good MSM substitute but found in somewhat lowered amounts is eating 1-2 cloves of garlic per day will help kill the fungus. Much of the dose depends on how much garlic you can eat, if it is to be consumed in evenly divided dose over the day.

Consider taking some zinc supplements in the form of zinc acetate, taken for a week or two should reduce the itch by increasing the immune reaction. Perhaps trying a weekly iodine foot painting well help. Often people with allergic reactions will have itchiness to, so molybdenum in form of sodium molybdate taken 5 mg- 10 mg would be helpful in reducing certain allergic reactions.

The best way is is to alkalize taking one whole lime/lemon and add baking soda until the fizz stop and add water to 1/2 glass and take this twice a day on an empty stomach (after or before meals over 1 hour). Often circulation problems is related to itchiness where the blood cannot reach it resulting in fungus causing itchiness. Alkalizing the body tends to dilate the tiny blood vessels, increase oxygen, and will result in reduced itchiness. It is necessary that you avoid sugar, all sweet products and all fried food, while your in this condition.

In some cases an itchiness can also be an allergic response, so taking vitamin B complex might also be helpful, in particular is the the thiamine, since the body can deplete itself rather quickly on certain antibiotics and toxic environment. Gluthathione can also help detoxify the blood. If you do have a confirmed fungus problem consider taking chinese parsley (coriander) one handful 2-3 days out of a week for each week. These will remove heavy metals, and thereby starving the fungus and killing them in the process.
