MMS: The Miracle Mineral Supplement from Jim Humble

Modified on Jan 11, 2024

Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS), also known as Miracle Mineral Solution, Master Mineral Solution, or the CD protocol, is a controversial substance promoted as a treatment for various diseases. It was developed by Jim Humble, a former aerospace engineer, who initially used it to treat malaria during his time in Malawi and other parts of Africa.

The main component of MMS is chlorine dioxide, an industrial bleaching agent. To prepare MMS, an aqueous solution of sodium chlorite is mixed with an acid, such as citric acid, which forms chlorine dioxide. This mixture is then diluted with water before consumption.

Despite its name, MMS is not a mineral supplement but a strong oxidizing agent. It gained attention and spread through online marketing, with claims of its efficacy in treating a wide range of serious conditions, including HIV/AIDS, malaria, hepatitis, cancer, autism, and the common cold. However, these claims have not been scientifically substantiated and are considered false and misleading.
