I've been using it that way since the beginning and I've never been told I have an odor. The owner of the patent said that the best mix is 1 part honey to 7 parts DMSO and 3 parts water.

Recently had a yoga instructor push on my back causing my back to go out, numbness going down my leg, needed help getting out of a chair. Came on to EC and tried the DMSO sitting in my cabinet and never opened. Couldn't believe how the cinching of muscles stopped in less than an hour - all the symptoms subsided by 80-90%.
Tried it on my mom's arthritic knee and she didn't complain of her knee aching in 2.5 hours. Usually, it's about every 2-5 minutes that she winces in pain, rubs it or asks for a tylenol. Tried it last night on tennis elbow - it's not stiff or hurting when lifting small items.
We've stopped ordering on amazon and purchased this at dmsostore.com - it's $2 less per bottle. (BTW, I am seeing a chiropractor that is also helping my back. My L5 was out of alignment and he was surprised I wasn't in more pain. Mentioned DMSO and he was excited to look into it.)

Longtime DMSO user here.
I personally use mine on sore body parts straight. First I put on a thin layer of castor oil (to protect the skin), then I use an eye dropper to measure, and so I know my starting dose. Eg. for my two crushed discs I started with 7 drops per side. Leave the area uncovered for 20 mins, then get dressed again.
How I take it internally:
I typically use only 1/4 tsp of it 1x day. It's a solvent so it wants into your tissues, fast! So it's disconcerting to start to drink it, swallow, but there's nothing left cause it was already absorbed in the back of your throat!
As time goes on DMSO will actually heal you! And you will need less and less. If you don't want to fuss with castor oil, you could dilute the DMSO with distilled water, to a level of 50/50, and apply it that way. I was telling a friend of my crushed disc protocol, that I started 3 yrs ago and gradually cycled down as I healed when I realized I hadn't put any on my back in 2 months! So remember, you're not treating, you'll actually be healing. Best of luck on your healing!

I like to use it straight and not watered down. I use a thin layer of Castor Oil first as it is the only oil viscous enough to protect the skin. I started with 7 drops on each side, 2x per day. DMSO actually heals on a molecular level, so I needed less and less as time went on.
A few weeks ago I was telling a friend about what DMSO did for me, and suddenly realized I had not put any DMSO on my back in 2 months! So from now on, I will just apply a "maintenance dose" 1x a month to keep things good. So, know how much you started with and be prepared to cycle down by either using fewer drops per treatment or skipping days, etc. It's not like a big Harma med where you have to take it forever and usually need more to get the same result, DMSO is the opposite!!

I used DMSO on my friend's feet, with a thin layer of Castor Oil first, and then 3 drops of straight liquid DMSO, on each. He felt so much better after just 1 treatment! We are continuing this treatment. While doing a deep dive into how DMSO heals so efficiently, I found a study that said it heals by correcting the DNA back to what it's supposed to be doing, in whatever body part is sore. I order it from the DMSO store, online or it can be found at any good health food store in North America. Feel well, lovely Earthclinic community!

99.9% is sold in feed stores for use on animals, and 99.995% is sold as pharmacy grade - difference is that the purer grade has been sent through an additional charcoal filtering to remove any tiny contaminates that may remain after processing. Amazon sells the purest 99.995 grade very reasonable.
One of the most recommended ways to apply is with a natural bristle paint brush, or organic cotton balls. Never use water to mix with unless it is distilled water, otherwise what ever may be in the water will be also pulled into your skin; anything you mix with DMSO will be pulled into the skin and below. It is a very safe product if you use properly and very beneficial to many aches and pains.
Don't cover the application if you use it anywhere above the waist and dilute it further than any mixture you use below the waist. You may cover it if used below the waste but use clean white cotton material or towels so that the dye from the material is not also sucked through you skin. An application can be wiped off after 30 minutes as that is the longest it takes to absorb the benefits.
Always make sure your skin in very clean and dry before using. Never rub it on with your hand - it can cause skin irritation in that spot and if left on the palms of your hands, will also look like they've been soaked in water for hours. The skin will most likely turn a reddish color for a short period of time as the circulation is stepped up but will go away very soon. Slight itching may happen but do not itch it. It will stop soon. Not all experience these side affects but a lot do.

I read on earth clinic that sties are a form of staph. I had some DMSO (sulfur) so I started treating his wound with it mixed in an aloe gel with other herbs and I also sprinkled some DMSO drops on his food. I started a similar regime too because the skin on my right hand started to split everywhere and bled spontaneously. We both healed up beautifully in about a week's time.
I continue to keep us on oral DMSO as a maintenance/precautionary move to ward off anything else that might come our way. This is recommended by the supplier.
DMSO for Knee Pain

I could not figure out why my right knee was hurting so bad one day. I could walk fine, but if I went up or down the stairs, it really hurt. I broke out my bottle of DMSO and proceeded to put it on my knee 2x/day. Relief was immediate, and then within 5 days, it was like it never even happened!
DMSO is rendered when "white liquor" is added to wood to make pulp. The resultant extract is then purified and sold as DMSO.
So DMSO's job is to make the tree strong and stand up. It works the same in the human body. It makes your cells stand firm (like when we're young) and do what they're supposed to do! I have not had to re-apply it to my knee since either.
DMSO is a miracle. I recommend it for any and all pain, even nerve pain.

DMSO for Shoulder Injury

December 26, 2016 over a year ago, I slipped on the top step of my front porch. After sliding and bouncing down 6 concrete steps I recovered and went inside the house to check out my body.
Evidently I injured my right shoulder by landing mostly on the last two steps.
Right away I applied ice packs off and on every 15 minutes--finally in order to sleep I took a pain pill. The next day I began research on earthclinic and found DMSO---- purchased the DMSO from a rural supply and found much relief.
I had pain on the order of about 4 of 10 for about one week. Movement was hurtful but managed. After a month, motion and movement were doing good. Each day I applied the DMSO gel from the jar with my left hand to the right shoulder. After about 5 minutes the skin would heat up and you knew it was working. A few minutes later the heating subsides along with the pain (which by now was very little). In March I felt complete again unless I tried lifting over 60-70 lbs (so I didn't).
It is now January 9, 2018 and I can definitely remember the mishap but the right shoulder is doing good. Recently I awoke to what seemed to be a locked up big toe and it hurt to walk .....a little coat of DMSO ....5 minutes goes by and all is well again.

DMSO is illegal for Drs to use yet it can be found in ER for bullet wounds, or whatever, and starts immediate shrinking of the brain to normal and quickly starts healing. Now!!!
To me, the DMSO serves a better service. Put on ya big toe and taste it in 6-8 seconds,,,,,,,,,, while carrying any Medicine [ or poison. wash hands first.] through the skin directly into the bloodstreams. MXM!
It is good. must be! It is DMSO Crystal because it is unlawful Dr to prescription, or be sold off the shelf as a human Med. Multi $$$$ milliom NFL = MLB, jocks, Athletes have used it for 50 +years and is used for animals. $$$ Million horses?
Is it safe? Yaaahhhh. I have used DMSO since '79 for cuts, burns, pain, cancer, [ after 4 surgeries. No cancer for one year after Turmeric and Cannabis Oil, many things and have given 50=60 bottles over the years. Keep some in the car.
And. If you use it, sponge it on. It will take the oil from the skin after several "rubbins" and skin may itch. I could go on forever about DMSO. So much pain, cancer, burns, etc, name it= has been the true miracle meds. After all, 6000 years ago God knew we would need His help. But. Do your own research. You will enjoy it. jim
PS: You can mix many meds with DMSO and put it under the tongue with an eye dropper. Sponge on skin. Instantly it is in the bloodstream.

I can apply to all parts of my body without any reactions but my husband will get a red itchy reaction so I use the 50/50 gel.
It's difficult to ascertain the quality of DMSO that you buy but I basically tell my clients to start with small doses, drops directly on the skin below the waist and diluted above. Depends on your skin type too, there is no rule of law for using DMSO and I have not heard of anyone overdosing from it.
Don't be afraid to experiment in dosage, but be careful if you blend it. For instance, I used to take 2 caps of Zaldiar (tramadol/acetometaphine), with 10 drops of DMSO in glass of water, I only need 1 cap...I suggest that you do your research before you start using it; many of us here can only give you information based on our own experiences but that doesn't mean it will work for you. Like any drug, each body has a different chemical composition, same goes for these natural substances.
I made my first batch of Cannabis Oil, ingest 1 rice size dosage and it knocked me out yet when I was younger I probably could do a lot more and not get affected. So, slowly experiment and for direction skin application, do a test first. In my 20 years of using DMSO, I have never had a negative experience with it. Good luck!

I have a 4-link stent in my LAD heart artery.
It is a "25 year drug eluting" stent.
I use a half to a full tablespoon ORAL DMSO (50%-50% dmso/water) every few days or weeks "as needed" for health reasons. So does my fiancee for her many medical problems that had no success with anything else.
What you MUST DO is use alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg., at least twice a day, during AND AFTER using oral/topical high dose/injected DMSO for, I would suggest, a week minimum.
That is to help detox your blood from the use of DMSO and Lugol's iodine and all the bacteria/virises/fungus/pathogens that DMSO and Lugol's has destroyed. If you don't, you will feel like you got hit by a truck!
Alpha Lipoic acid "takes out the trash" of all these dead nasty creatures etc..
Do it like that and you will feel great.
All evidence based suggestions.
Oh, yes, the Lugol's iodine mix will kill all those pathogens that can cause you back pain and damage. I just told you how to fix it too late unless you had mechanical injuries.
No matter what the reason you had the work done, you have iodine deficiency and a compromised immune system unless you are dosing with Lugol's solution.
All CYSTS are caused by IODINE DEFICIENCY!

You've surgery and almost everybody has "low-grade infections" that are a HUGE, but unknown problem for the general population.
High dose vitamin D, at least a thousand iu of D3 PER 25 lbs. of body weight - MINIMUM and 10mg. (4 drops) Lugol's iodine 2% solution a day, works for most everyone I know to feel more mentally alert, focused, CALM, and inflammation SUPPRESSED/immune system modulated and ARMED.

A doctor gave it to my husband to use after his back surgery b/c he had terrible swelling in his legs and feet. His feet looked like pregnant lady feet. I applied the DMSO around the suture and within an hour his legs were no longer swollen (they were swollen for 5 days after surgery). I applied the DMSO around his suture again that night before he went to bed. The next morning his feet looked normal. I'm now trying it on a MRSA scar.
If I have any luck with it reducing the scar I will post my results. Do know, MRSA toxins are nasty but if you can find a doc to give you a vitamin C IV get one. It will mop those toxins up and make you feel a ton better. I had undiagnosed MRSA for 3 years in my nose. I could smell a burning matches type smell all the time. One doctor actually told me I was hallucinating. I ended up septic, after about 6 months sepsis I found an integrative medicine doctor and he gave me the vitamin C. It made me feel so much better immediately. It pushed the toxins out through my skin. I had cystic like knots all over my head the day after the infusion and they disappeared later that day. After that I got 4 more infusions weekly and I was soon healed. The MRSA popped up 2.5 yrs later and I finally had a smart enough doctor to swab the wound in my nose, we found out it was MRSA, I was finally put on a MRSA appropriate anti-biotic and I combined it this time with 40k mg of IV vitamin C, this finally knocked it out. For the first time in my life I don't smell burning matches. Vitamin C in conjunction with the right antibiotic works miracles. Don't take fluroquinolones as the antibiotic it will make it worse, I used rifampin. I also took likes of niacin. I suffered through the flush but the niacin is to get blood super close to the wound to help heal it faster.
Dmso Removed Excessive Water Retention

I spread 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of 99% DMSO on a baby wipe. Then I wiped from the breast line to just past the groin where lymph glands are (front and back.)
Over the next 12 hours, I peed like a racehorse!
It took 2 days but all the water build-up disappeared. It has come back 5 times and I used it each time to success. I also added tissue salts for control of water in the body and liver support (nat mur /nat sulph).
Recently my sister was in the hospital when her chemo almost killed her (heart and liver issues). She gained 24 pounds in 5 days. I advised the DMSO cautiously thinking at least there they could deal with any reaction. Instead of a problem, she ended up flooding the measuring container a few times and lost the 24 pounds in a week.
The Drs were very happy that the liver numbers quickly dropped to the normal range. We didn't share our diuretic-free solution though.
DMSO is a cheap and pretty safe way to get rid up water build up.
