Dear Earth Clinic, I would really appreciate it if you could answer my question. I started taking 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide diluted in distilled water a month ago to heal my candida problems. The protocol that I used was by Dr David G. Williams starting with 3 drops 3 times a day, increasing the dose with one drop each day. I have already reached 20 drops 3 times a day but I had to drop it back because I felt sick.

After a few days taking it I experienced a number of side effects (diarrhea, nausea) but the most worrying one is having a severe heartburn that I have never had before in my entire life. My tongue has had a white coating on it for years now because of the Candida infection but I cured it well gargling with 3% H2O2. After experiencing heartburn the white-greyish coating returned on my tongue even though I still gargle with it. But now I cannot get rid of it. My mouth tastes sour all the time and my heartburn is pretty bad. I am a little worried taking it so I stopped using it.

What am I supposed to do? Is it only healing crisis or my body just can't take H2O2? Should I continue taking it? Is it the right dosage? Thank you so much, Regards, Eszter from Hungary

This question is directed to Ted, please. Help! I did not know hydrogen peroxide 3% could damage tissue. For 3-4 years I poured about 8 oz. Hydrogen peroxide daily directly on the same spot on my scalp, thinking I was helping it. It only got worse. My scalp seems to have slowly dissolved from the inside. (The pain has been immeasurable for the past several years and I have been on several prescription painkillers for this with almost no pain relief. ) It feels like it dissolved the skeletal muscle under the skin, which has been fraying, stripping and snapping and pulling apart. It spread first to the muscles in my face and neck then damages the skin over them. My muscles working downwards from there on the body have been affected in sequence. Recognized diseases and conditions have been ruled out. I can't get any doctor to investigate the peroxide issue. Please give me suggestions of what I might do to find answers and suggestions for treatment. I desperately need your help. Thank you. Jen

I started gargling with 3% hydrogen peroxide and have been having a real flare-up of acid reflux. A couple of days after stopping the hydrogen peroxide, the acid reflux went away. Then I started ingesting food grade hydrogen peroxide and the acid reflux has returned. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, was hoping to get some advice from Ted on hydrogen peroxide. I am taking 3 drops twice a day for over a week, but still feel awfully ill. Have had a relapse on ME and have nausea, brain fog, digestive disturbance, etc. Should I continue with the HP? Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you, Simon

Hi,

I have been taking only a couple of drops of 3% food grade peroxide on my tongue for about 2 weeks. I have noticed my vision is slightly blurry. Is this normal?

I have acid reflux. I started taking 12% hydrogen peroxide food grade. I am currently taking 3/4 teaspoon in 32 ounces of water. This is the second time I am trying this. The first time I did this I got blisters in back of mouth and in throat. The same thing is happening again. I have had a burning mouth/throat for about ten years. When I take the hydrogen peroxide it seems to make my mouth burn more and then I get blisters. Is this caused by some infection that comes up from stomach? Should I continue with this? Will this subside as infection is attacked? Please give me some advice on this matter.

Thank-you, Dapper

I went through the complete hydrogen peroxide therapy regimen and have been on the maintenance dose for a few months. Has anybody had any problems with all-over body swelling while being on this therapy? I can hardly fit into my clothes, with no lifestyle/dietary changes. Very discouraging...

This is in response to the lady who used HP--50/50 in her nebulizer machine & not the food grade either--the first time I read this I was having a hard time breathing that night from a cold and I have asthma & COPD so I tried what she suggested and I had to call an ambulance less than an hour later---it burned my lungs badly and I couldn't breathe--felt like I could get no air in my lungs--thought I was going to die--ambulance finally came and I was treated & ok now but don't believe everything other people have tried will work on you--in my case it had disastrous results!

Better But With Side Effects

Hi. I have been taking h202 for a little under a year. my eyebrow (related to spleen, kidney) doesn't hurt as much and I dont feel that thud of pain on my lower back where liver kidney is.

I did the 21 days up and then ramp down to 3 drops of 35% solution. currently I'm on maintenance where I take it but I stop over the weekend as Ted suggested to give a break.

However this month I noticed that sometimes I get tingling .. Like electricity shocks inside my body. Is this related to h202 or something else? I haven't changed my diet (except that I"m accumulating money to fix my back). I don't usually get this at all.

i used hydrogen peroxide, 35% with 8 oz. of distilled water to drink for theraputic benefits. I started with 4 drops hp in water twice daily;increasing by 1 drop daily until I reached 11 drops. (then I stopped because of nausea). I used the hp full strength in the water because thats how I understood it to be used. Since I did this, my joints (shoulders, lower back, pelvis and knees)ache daily. What did I do wrong and can something be done to correct this?

UPDATE: My husband and I are on Day 21 and doing GREAT! I'm up to 20 drops, 3x daily, 35% Food Grade H2O2 in distilled water, he's on 23 drops of the same. My blood sugar is much better--really loading up on protein and restricting carbs almost completely. Not using as much baking soda now--don't use it every time I take the drops. Looking forward to making it to the 25-drop mark so we can start tapering down to the maintenance level. I get a lump in my throat every time I think about drinking this stuff, but it is SO worth it! This therapy has made a world of difference in our lives--both have a lot more energy and endurance for life. My husband used to be tired all the time, and now doesn't fall asleep on the couch every evening. Really enjoying the extra energy, mental clarity, and freedom from constant PAIN and depression!

UPDATE: Day 13 and still hanging in there! Up to 11 drops 35% food grade H2O2 plus 1/4 - 1/2 tsp baking soda, 3x daily. For the most part, feeling GREAT!! I've had a few die-off effects, but not bad. The biggest problem is my blood sugar. I'm hypoglycemic and my blood sugar starts dropping about an hour before I can eat again :( There's just no getting around it, so I'm trying to work through it. I couldn't do it if I was working. But let me tell ya, my mind hasn't been this clear for as long as I can remember! AND very little, if any, pain! Woo hoo!! The other night, I was watching TV, and all of a sudden, my sinuses just opened up! I didn't even know they were blocked--never knew I coudn't take a deep breath! Pretty cool when it helps with problems you never even knew you had :) My husband is up to 15 drops 35% food grade H2O2, 3x daily, and doing GREAT!

Better But With Side Effects

I am doing the HP oral therapy and did great--more energy, less pain, mental clarity--until I reached 21 drops 3x daily of 12% food grade, in distilled water. Then the horrible esophageal burning started! So I added 1/4 teaspoon baking soda in distilled water, directly after the HP. It helps some, but still the burning. Is there anything else I can do to rememdy this?

PLEASE NOTE: I had this same burning before starting the HP if I tried to eat fresh fruits/vegetables. Also, I have some fear that the HP will burn a hole in my stomach/esophagus. Any info would be much appreciated.

Better But With Side Effects

Hi. I just read an Earth Clinic report on your site (dated 11/21/2006) that casts doubt on whether H2O2 therapy might cause gastrointestinal problems. I just wanted to give you some feedback on the subject, based on personal experience. I've been on H2O2 therapy for a few weeks - long enough to see a few subtle changes for the better - but one down-side that I've also noticed is that I get very severe reflux as a result. My better half started the therapy at the same time as me, and he takes the same dose of H2O2 as me, but he hasn't had any reflux problems.

There's one main difference between the two of us however - I had a pretty nasty gastric reflux problem to start with (had it for years) whereas he doesn't have a pre-existing condition of this kind. So while I'm not saying that H2O2 actually causes gastric problems, I am saying that it might irritate pre-existing problems of that type in some people - particularly if the problem is already fairly severe to start with. I find it helps if I take my reflux medication during or before taking my daily H2O2 dose, and I also get better results if I don't let my stomach stay empty for too long after ingesting H2O2. It doesn't stop the reflux completely, unfortunately, but it seems to reduce the severity quite a bit.

I started taking H2O2 (35% food grade) 3 drops in 4-6 oz water 3x per day and increased 1 drop per day (I had to increase water amount too) to 14 drops. I have stayed on 14 drops 3x per day for 2 weeks (plan is 3 weeks then decrease back down to 3 drops 3x per day)I have started having pain in my lower abdomen that has gotten to be quite painful. I actually took a day off today as the pain is really concerning me. The only thing I can compare it to is when I had a colonoscopy 4 years and they removed a polyp or 2, I could feel a minor pain then and this current pain is in that area and much more panful than when they removed the polyps. Can anyone (Ted) advise what to do fo this pain? Thanks for your help. I have been reading many things on this site and am amazed at some of the testimonials.

Caution drinking Hydrogen Peroxide: I tried drinking less than a quarter capful of Rite Aid brand 3% hydrogen peroxide this morning in a 12 oz glass of water. I immediately felt my body tingling and I drank another glass of water to dilute the effect. Within minutes I felt a weird sensation and had to rush to the bathroom. I have been rushing to the bathroom practically all morning. I did not know whether to laugh or cry because I suffer from chronic constipation and I thought I welcome the frequent bathroom visits but not due to an upset stomach. I drank another glass of water and continued feeling funny. I went to Rite Aid and spoke to the pharmacist who told me I should be okay. I felt better after having a late breakfast. I have a sensitive stomach and I was told the HP may have been too much of an irritant for it. Just a word of caution if you are going to use 3% like I did for the first time, maybe you should start with one drop and see the effect or diarrhea and a racing pulse may be the side effect for a while. It is now about five hours later and I feel almost normal.

Hi, I wanted to warn people of one potential side effect of hydrogen peroxide therapy. I took it internally as directed on this website and started having palpitations about a week later. These were premature ventricular contractions and progressed to happen in a bigeminal pattern (every other beat) for about a third of every day. I have no prior cardiac history and am a generally health 36 year-old man. I stopped the hydrogen peroxide and they went away. I restarted it after a week of no palpitations to test the theory that it may be due to the hydrogen peroxide and they came back. Stopped it again, and they went away. Premature ventricular contractions are not usually harmful, but are disturbing and it also sent me on a wild cardiac goose chase (including a $2500 echocardiogram) because I didn't consider that it could be related to the hydrogen peroxide therapy.

Hello, everytime I take hydrogenperoxde by drinking 1-3 35% drops in a glass of tapwater or gargling, I get stings in my heart afterwards. What is the reason for this? I think about stopping hydrogen peroxide. Thank you
