My 13 week puppy got a parvo shot 4 days ago, today is Sunday and he won't eat or drink water, just a little bit ago he drank water a did start eating, but his right eye looks like glass or something covering it, and he just had a huge muscle spasm or seizure not sure. Then got up and ran around then went to his food and started eating. He's scheduled to go to vet in am, to get neutered. Not sure what to do? But he did start eating.

My puppy was given her antiparvo vaccine last night at home, and she was poked several times because we could not get the needle in her (lots of yelping and squirming). She was vomiting for a couple hours, dry heaving, and all she does is sleep. She has now begun to drink water, but will not eat. And she shows signs of resentment towards me (I was one of the hands holding her down). She pooped this morning and it was wet and somewhat solid. Like a thick, wet paste texture. Will she be okay?

I had a 6th month old Samoyed puppy receive a Parvo Vaccine and came down with the disease. It was a 50/50 chance for about 4 or 5 days that she could have died from it. She did end up ok, but after that I have not been too eager for vaccines with any of my animals. At this time I get only what is required by law for my dog, and do not keep going in every year for a booster rabbies. I also limit the vaccinations with my horse. Lately since Michigan has had a number of West Nile cases, I have vaccinated for that this spring. But I always check into what vets recommend and what I feel is necessary.

I just recently changed the brand of puppy shots that I used, at the advice of a representative from Revival Animal Health, where I have ordered all my vaccines for the past 11 years. The vaccines were on sale, so she advised they were very good and would save me some money. I vaccinated 8 puppies with the new Solo Jec 5 Plus, manufactured by Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. , all of which developed parvo and died. Then it spread to 7 more puppies that were too young to vaccinate, and I lost them as well. My vet tested with the Idexx Snap Parvo test and it was positive for parvo. I had other puppies that were vaccinated with another vaccine, that are fine and did not develop parvo, so I know it was this particular vaccine. The company that I ordered from (Revival Animal Health) denies having any knowledge of this particular vaccine causing problems for anyone else, and were just plain nasty to me when I called them for a refund after they received the remaining product back. I don't know if we're supposed to use name brands or company names on a site like this, but I certainly don't want anyone else to have to go through the nightmare that I have been through for the last three weeks doctoring sick puppies. I have probably lost over $15,000 in puppies and veterinary care alone. I have kept 4 of the vaccines, so if there is anyone out there that knows where I can get these tested, to prove that they are what caused the parvo, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Our 10 week old husky puppy had her parvo vaccine yesterday. About a minute and a half after being injected she went into a grandmaul seizure. The vet said he'd NEVER heard of that happening before and he said he's pretty sure she has epilepsy. It was the SCARIEST thing I've ever been through, she seized in my arms. After looking through all these responses and all Im even more firm on my belief that the shot caused the seizure. So far she's not had anymore. But we will be trying the Coliander leaves in her food, and are waiting to hear from the vet to see if DSMO or whatever is aproved for dogs in our state. If so we will be trying that too to make sure there is no long term effects. We LOVE this puppy and dont want to lose her. So a warning to other husky owners, BEWARE.

I had 2 bichon friese/malteseX, 9 yo, bro/sis, both in perfect health. In Sep, 2007 I took them for their annual parvo vaccinations. Suddenly, 2 months later the female is totally blind & the male is blind in the left eye. She also lost weight & was diagnosed diabetic. He had a major seizure & was diagnosed epileptic. I will never have my beloved dogs or any dogs I may own in the future, vaccinated ever again.
