Hi EB,
Thank you very much for the feedback! Do you happen to know the type of arthritis that your mum has?
As far as useable lotion, any water based lotion should work. If you have Jergens Lotion there, it will definitely work.
You can get the melatonin powder in the UK at this website :
https://rawpowders.co.uk/melatonin-powder
The link sometimes loads very slowly, but it does load.
I recommended this website to a person in the UK so they could make melatonin lotion and they told me they would recommend that website. They also told me they used a lotion which I only remember had the number "45" as part of the name of the lotion. Does that make any sense to you? They said it worked fine.

Thanks. I imagine that is E45 cream.

I dont know what type of arthritis, she just says she has pain in the night and her legs are really stiff so I made her the lotion. She really thinks its helping so now my sister asked me for some lotion for her 18 year old grandson who seems to have painful arthritis. I made her some, we will see if it helps. I know that is really young but he is in a lot of pain.

Yes, EB, that is what I seem to remember, but I don't remember if it was the cream or the lotion. I imagine it would be easier to mix the lotion since lotions are usually thinner than creams.

Hi EB, I'm glad to hear that the melatonin lotion has helped her with the pain and stiffness in her legs! I hope it helps her sleep better also as it can have that effect in some people. I hope it also helps your sister's grandson's arthritis. Please let us know if it helps him too! There are at least 4 forms of arthritis that can affect an 18 year old, so could you also let us know which form he has been diagnosed with? Art

Hi Art
For the sake of accuracy the lotion has not helped with the stiffness in her legs but it has helped with the pain in the night.
Thanks so much.

Hi again, EB.
One common type of arthritis that can cause stiffness is osteoarthritis. It might be worth finding out from her doctor what type of arthritis she has. If it is osteoarthritis, it might be worth considering borax as a longer term remedy to consider. It generally helps both pain and stiffness. It doesn't work right away, but she can use the melatonin lotion at the same time to help reduce her pain and until the borax adds in. The borax remedy was introduced to EC by Ted and is discussed here :

Be sure and check with her doctor to make sure it will be compatible with whatever meds she is taking and that it will be safe for her.
Lastly you might consider a red light therapy device to be used on the legs. I wrote about it at the following link for a friend in her 80's who did not tolerate borax :

If you get your grandsons Immune panel-blood tests and some dietary information, past viruses, bacterial infection and issues like that. I will dig deeper on the cause of his young arthritis, and figure out supplements to hopefully get rid of it. Up to you.
