How To Make Hand Sanitizer At Home

Did you know that most hand sanitizers contain triclosan, a pesticide? Even the American Medical Association believes this chemical is creating superbugs. Maybe it's time we all learn to make homemade hand sanitizer using simple and inexpensive remedies found in your cupboard! Most natural hand sanitizer recipes use a simple combination aloe vera gel and an essential oil like lemon, geranium, or lavender oil. Others make use of a combination of antibacterial essential oils like clove, lemon, cinnnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary oils.

One very simple ingredient we make use of as a natural hand sanitizer when we are travelling and forgot to bring a hand sanitizer with us is is lemons. Since most restaurants serve water with a fresh lemon slice, you can squeeze the lemon juice onto both hands, rubbing vigorously until the juice dries. Not only will your hands smell fantastic, but they will feel baby soft from lemon's natural alpha hydroxy acids!
