Ivermectin seems to work at a molecular level by "gumming up" the spikes on the virus surface. The varicella zoster virus seems to look like corona virus in this regard (with the "corona" not from a beer but from /crown/ of course, owing to the spikes on its surface.) I only found limited evidence of the use of ivermectin for shingles, online. I'm creating this entry for some hoped for additions about this possibility.
