Omega 3, Vitamin A for Pterygium

Adam (California) on 01/09/2025
5 out of 5 stars

For about 1-2 years I have developed Pterygium in both of my eyes, Just a few months ago I started to really notice a change in my right eye particularly.. it got so bad I started to see a beveled piece of skin on the corner of my cornea and extreme redness from inflamed veins that always seem to make my right eye look red. I looked high 24/7 and it really affected my confidence, my want to connect to people, or make eye contact. This year especially, my eyes were constantly dry and red, even my less problematic left eye started getting bad as my right since winter time forces me to turn on the heater and dry out my eyes. This winter, my eyes were dryer than ever before, and began to look for a cure.. I really do not want surgery on my eyes, so I looked around and found Omega-3 Fatty Acid and Vitamin A.

I believe I figured out what my problem was, I was deficient in Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Vitamin A for quite a long time in my life as I do not like to eat Spinach (Vitamin A) or Seafood (Omega-3). I found this out using the Cronometer app, plugging everything I ate on a daily basis, and I was constantly deficient in these two nutrients. I decided to do research to find a food that had both of these nutrients and found Cod Liver Oil which is high in Omega-3, Vitamin A, and Vitamin D. I also found out that Spinach was very high in Vitamin A and Vitamin K. I purchased the best Cod Liver Oil I could find, I wanted a Cod Liver Oil that was un-heated and in its raw form to ensure I had quality nutrients in the most natural state, I settled with Rosita Cod Liver Oil. 5mL of this oil has about 1100 mcg of Vitamin A, 9 mcg of Vitamin D and 1293 mg of Omega-3. I decided to take 1.25mL to 2.5mL a day as I wanted to keep my Vitamin A under 900 mcgs per day since I do not want to overdue it due to hearing about side effects of too much vitamin A. I have been taking 1.25-2.5mL every day for the past 15 days and I can tell you everyday is an improvement! My ultra red-eyes are nearly gone (just a few red veins now that I can barely notice), my dry eyes are nearly gone and believe it or not but the Pterygium in my right eye looks less thick and yellow/orangish since I have been taking this oil. However, the bevel near my cornea is still there. I can say without a doubt that this oil is helping me tremendously, I feel 1000% better about my appearance and hopefully my DED (Dry Eye Disease) completely heals so I no longer have to worry about the Pterygium growing out of control anymore. I have also noticed my mind is much less foggy and much more clear after taking this Cod Liver Oil.

I am also incorporating Spinach to my diet, but I am using Cronometer to ensure that I don't overdo Vitamin A in my diet. I also notice if I stop taking Cod Liver Oil or when my diet is absent of Vitamin A and Omega 3 my eyes dry up again (I'm not making that mistake again, I'm taking this stuff everyday now).

I now believe that Dry Eye Disease and Pterygium is a deficiency symptom, as I said before, my diet did not consist of any seafood or spinach. It's either a deficiency in Omega-3 or Vitamin A I was dealing with. Now that I know, I am keeping an eye on all of my deficiencies with the Cronometer app. I am 100% grateful for Rosita, I do not trust any other Cod Liver Oil manufacturing company. I hope this helps someone who is dealing with this scary disease.

Avoid Sugar and Salt, Take Potassium for Pterygium

My wife has pterygium in both eyes. We have tried all but just recently stopped eating all types of sugar and salt and the pterygium has lower dramatically and the swallows veins also. Also, take potassium foods that will lower salt in your body and will help reduce inflammation. This has helped lower blood sugar and arterial tension in the eyes.

best of luck

Apple Cider Vinegar for Pterygiums

I have had pterygium in both eyes for 3 years. I looked online for a natural solution to the problem since I couldn't afford surgery which is not only too costly but will not provide a permanent solution as pterygium is said to reappear after surgery. I came across this website. I mixed 4 part water and 1 part ACV and applied that very night. I woke in the morning and was surprised to notice the pterygium had shrunk a little. I have been using this solution for 2 months and the pterygium is almost gone.

However, note that the solution stings a little but subsides moments after. I encourage any one with pterygium to try it. My only regret is that I didn't take pictures of the stage of the pterygium before treatment. I personally want to thank the folks at earth clinic for making this known to us.

Aloe Vera Gel For Pterygium (Hard Lumps Inside Eye):

I had pterygium in my left eye and came to earth clinic. I am currently taking ACV. I've had it for 3 months. The lump was bigger than a pin head and growing. It was hard like a callous compared to rest of eye. I put on aloe vera gel and rubbed on my eyelids an let some seep in. It stung for like 1/10 of a second, next morning it was significantly smaller. I used morning and night by second day it was completely gone. Plus my little red veins from being tired were also gone. Thanks earth clinic!

Apple Cider Vinegar for Pterygium

I have a pterygium that was causing my great discomfort.

My eyes were getting infected every 3 to 4 weeks and were prone to getting bloodshot most of the time. And at night after computer and TV screen use, they would feel very uncomfortable and feel 'gritty' and I had trouble keeping that eye open due to the discomfort. This post put me onto Apple Cider Vinegar and after only a few days, the discomfort was far less. Now after 6 weeks of use, my eyes feel terrific...not bloodshot and no discomfort. However the 1:3 dilution was too aggressive and so I went for 1:5. Still stings and takes a bit of getting used to but I have had no side effects, except positive ones. Truly very happy

Not much improvement but hopeful.

I have just been diagnosed with penguecular in both eyes which has been causing ityness and watery eyes for years. I always thought it was allergies so did the doctor so was treatng it as such. I have been using antihistmine which has had no effect (because it wasn't hayfever! ). Now I know what it is I can better help myself. I read here about ACV so have been using the ACV (with mother) recipe for about three weeks three times a day. Stings like crazy and eyes go a little blood shot for a few seconds. I'm presuming this is bringing nutrients to the eye? I haven't noticed any shrinking yet. When they start to feel a little itchy I put more drops in and it seems to give relief. I'm hopeful it might shrink the pings but just take time so I'll persevere. I will update in a few months.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Pterygium Worked But Took Months

ACV is the best my friend used it for 4 -5 months and this thing had already grown on the black part of his eyes AMAZINGLY after 4 -5 months of ACV, 1 teaspoon ACV and 3 teaspoons of water 3 times a day. It is almost completely gone. Be consistent and patient. I also have the same thing and have been using it for well over 1.5 months and seeing a big difference, white eyes, itchiness, and irritation are so much better now and even the growth is minimized. I will follow up in the future after a few months. Our doctors told us that the surgery should be the last option and is almost not advised as the regrowth will be worst. We were also advised to wear special sunglasses which were super expensive but isn't a bad idea to keep the direct UV rays out.

Apple Cider Vinegar Eye Drops for Pterygium

Bett (Queensland, Australia ) on 09/29/2017

I checked Earth Clinic for pinguecula remedies but none came up. I searched pterygium and saw many good results with Apple Cider vinegar so I thought I'd try it.

Ive had a small pinguecula in my right eye for a few years now and a slightly larger one in my left eye. They would occasionally become irritated and itchy but for me I mostly hated the look of them! I felt self conscious of my eyes and didn't like that they always seemed yellowish and not clear.

I used the diluted Apple Cider Vinegar as directed on the website. (1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar plus 3 teaspoons distilled or filtered water) 1-2 drops in each eye 2-3 times a day.

It stings!! But only for a few seconds. At first I thought "Oh gosh, what have I done!?"

BUT!!!

It works!!! 3 weeks later one is completely gone, and the other one is nothing but A mere speck! Completely unnoticeable unless I look very closely! My eyes are clear and really white again. I am so happy!!

Apple Cider with mother, diluted 1/3 with refresh.

used for 9 months now, and I started right after eye doctor said my Pterygium is growing back after having it surgically removed. I had my check up at 6 months of using the solution, and the eye doctors photos of my eyes shows no new growth, and actually to me, looked a little better. Its now 9 months later, drops few times a day..and my eyes do feel better, and looks as Pterygium is not growing. I didn't want to report until I felt my study was thorough. I have gotten used to the slight burn of the Apple Cider vinegar, but the relief outweighs that.

Vitamin C Eye Drops and ACV for Pterygium

Coco (Flat Earth) on 04/16/2017

I have suffered from extremely sensitive, dry eyes since my 20s. The whites of my eyes were never white, white. The whites always had a yellowish tinge to them as far back as I can remember.

I think the dry, sensitive eyes is the reason that my eyes were yellowish and also why I developed a pinguculae in each eye.

The one on my left eye is quite small. The one my right eye is much larger.

So, one day, whilst browsing the internet I discovered that vit c eyedrops were very good for the eyes. Occular fluid should have a high concentration of vit c. I made my own eye drops using water and vitamin c powder (to 10%). You store them in a dark glass bottle in the fridge. Do not use plastic. The eye drops sting a bit for about 20 seconds. I put 3 drops in each eye once a day.

My eyes became beautifully moisturised and the whites became whiter and the blood vessels became less obvious (less red and angry). The pings became less obvious too.

Unfortunately, the ping on my right eye is bad at the moment because I used old mascara and its caused my right eye a lot of irritation. My eye became inflamed and red and the ping became very obvious.

I did try diluted apple cider vinegar (3:1) but honestly it stung my eyes too much.

So, I have now discovered that the ping is made up of collagen and calcium.

I am now going to try a more diluted solution of acv. But, I am also going to put magnesium chloride solution in to my eyes to see if that helps. You see, my line of thought is this: I need to dissolve the calcium deposits in the ping. So, I'm going to use a three pronged approach, vit c in the morning for occular fluid, magnesium chloride solution in the late afternoon to dissolve calcium and apple cider vinegar in the evening.

I will keep you posted on how I get on.

Thought my eye would burst one day. Saw one specialist who told me I had to go for eye ope to remove the pterygium. Half of the cornea right eye was covered with the white stuff. It was bad ... And watery all the time. My dad who had cancer advised me to use Acv.

I started by making 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar and 3 part water. I would put drops into the affected eye. I tried this for about 6 months. Size of the pterygiun dropped. Wanna tell you something today. 2 weeks ago I started drinking Acv, one glass of water warm with 2 table spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar first thing in the morning and at bedtime.

Whaasaa results were shocking. Black part of the eye is coming out after 7 years. I have put my glasses away.... Unbelievable.

I've tried ACV on my pterygiums with modest success. So I guess I'll try the castor oil and charcoal to see if that helps any. But I did go to the optometrist today for some new reading glasses and I told him about ACV and he just laughed. I then went on to tell him that my local doctor told me that there is no cure for Tinnitus, from which I suffer, ( ringing in the ears. ) But ACV cured that condition in 2 weeks. So I wont be taking too much notice of the optometrist. I had an apendix removed at the hospital a couple of years ago and just prior to being wheeled in for the op a nurse visited me and asked me all kinds of stuff among which was whether I was taking any medications for anything. I told her, no, only multi vitamins and glucosamine and fish oil for my dicky knees, you know? supermarket stuff. She said that theres no evidence that any of that stuff works. I felt like saying but there is plenty of anecdotal. evidence to suggest that the medical pprofession can and will say whatever they like in order to maintain their monopoly of the health care industry.

Apple Cider Vinegar Clearing Pinguecula

Tesa (Temecula, Ca) on 10/04/2016

I am a 41 year old African lady who got pinguecula in my late 20s. I now live in the USA. This eye disorder is very common amongst African people. I used to feel so helpless. I came across apple cider many years ago and have used it all the time, except I had never put it in my eyes. 3 weeks ago, I put ACV in my hair to make it softer and some of it went into my eyes. It really stung and I was worried. The net day I googled ACV in eyes and came across suggestions of it curing the pinguecula. I tried it and Oh good Lord!! The pinguecula has become smaller in my right eye and it's fading. I am totally shocked.I use the mixture of ACV and distilled water at least 3 times a day. My eyes are brighter and my confidence is coming back. I have always been so insecure and it had become mentally challenging to me because of my eyes. I used to have very bright eyes in my early twenties, but pinguecula had totally destroyed them. Just continue with the journey all of you out there. ACV works. My only concern is that it's fading faster in the right eye than in the left. I will keep my fingers crossed that it will eventually disappear in the left eye. My right eye is so much clearer and brighter than the left one. all the red veins I had in my right have almost faded.

Hi.. I came across this website searching for cure of my left eye with pterygium the natural way. I'm very much aware of the side effects of corticosteroid prescribed by my ENT so I stopped using it. I didn't wanna have surgery of my eye either. Anyway, came across with the apple cider vinegar phenomena and gave it a shot just two days ago after reading all the positive feedbacks. I followed the ratio of 3:1 (3 parts filtered water: 1 part acv). ( I bought the unfiltered/raw Apple Cider Vinegar at the supermarket.) 1 drop of the solution at 9 am and 1 drop 9 pm and honestly, it hurts like hell at first and my eye turned really red for a few seconds. However, I was overwhelmed of the results. Never had the gritty feeling, burning sensation the whole day today. And the best of all the yellowish tissue somehow faded a lil bit and the blob shrunk I think. I will keep you posted of any updates. Thank you is all I can say to earthclinic. You have given us hope for this intractable disease.

I tried apple cider vinegar and castor oil without success. I then had a look in the homeopathic Materia Medica and got rid of the pterygium by taking the homeopathic remedies Merc Cor 30 (Mercurius corrosivus) and Ant Tart 30 (Antimonium Tartaricum). It took a few weeks.
