Plantar warts, also known as verrucas, are warts that are usually found on the bottoms of the feet. They are not generally raised as are other warts. Sometimes they have small black specks in the center.
Mosaic warts are clusters of plantar warts. While plantar warts are not a serious or dangerous health condition, they can be painful and unsightly. Because they are caused by a virus, they can be transmitted from one person to another.
Children seem to be more susceptible to plantar warts than adults.
