I have had Mono for about two months. The doctor told me 10 days ago, that I was on the Tail End of the illness and that it should end within 2 weeks. So basically he says I have 4 days left. IDK how the hell he would know how long I have, but I got Coconut Oil yesterday took 4 in morning, 4 at night, and I feel a little better today, not cured, but a little better, the only thing im battling now is the fatigue, nothing else... Should I trust the coconut oil?

My daughter became sick and diagnosed with mono, after being told that fluids, rest and crossing your fingers that she may feel normal in three months, I did some research on line and started reading about coconut oil! After three days of taking it she was like new. No more high fevers, swollen eyelids, swollen glands in her throat, no more excessive sleepiness. She went back to school, only missed five days total, and back to work also! She has never had a relapse even after being done taking the tablets for a month, has been healthy ever since!! Coconut oil is a miracle as far as I'm concerned! I will use it for other illnesses also. Thank you for all the great information!!

My husband was diagnosed on 9/23 with mono with a positive blood test. We started vigin cocnut oil that day 2 tablespoons every day and with in 5 days he was completely symptom free. His doctor had filed disability paperwork because he was going to be out at least one to two months she thought, but he was relaesed for work this past week and is TOTALLY symtom free!!!! She was shocked because she had never had any patients recover that quickly, she ensured us that she would encourage others with mono to give it a try.

Our 19 year old daughter was diagnosed with mono through blood testing on Monday. At this point, she had all the classic symptoms along with severe swollen tonsils and glands and a sinus infection, which the doctor was wanting to utilize an antibiotic to treat.

After much research and reading testimonies of those who have used coconut oil successfully for treatment, we decided to try this option and postpone the use of the antibiotic. Coconut oil pills were not available at our local health store so we purchased organic virgin coconut oil (VCO), unrefined. Beginning on Tuesday, we mixed 1 1/2 TBSP of the VCO each morning and each evening in a smoothie or with some applesauce for her consumption. The sinus infection began to loosen and drain after the first consumption of the VCO and the throat pain from the swollen glands and tonsils began to decrease significantly. After two days, this morning, Thursday, she awoke and actually came to me with a huge smile and lots of hugs of appreciation for finding this solution to her ailment. She no longer has any throat pain, her sinus symptoms are gone along with all other symptoms and she is feeling and looking well. While she was sleeping I had researched a little further and found that you can mix the VCO with honey and cinnamon and spread it on toast for another option of consuming. We both tried this option this morning and it is tasty. A great way to serve it to younger children.

I have now continued the research on all the health benefits of VCO and will be utilizing it regularly for cooking, treatment of various ailments, and as a face moisturizer. Thanks so much to all who posted on this site, it was truly a blessing to our family.

My son was diagnosed with Mono about two weeks ago. I read the recommendations about using Coconut oil as a therapy. I am beyond the word IMPRESSED! He had pustules on his tonsils and his lymph glands were very swollen. After four days of taking the 4 coconut oil pills morning and night the swollen glands are very reduced the pustules are gone. He had a slight cough and that disappeared as well. Thank you for posts regarding coconut oil. Debbie, Bohemia, NY

Coconut Oil cured my son of mono in four days. My son was sick for about a week, when we finally we to the doctor he tested positive for mono. The doctor just said " he could be sick for weeks or longer, good luck " and that was about it. I found this site and read all the yea for coconut oil. I had some organic 0il that I used for popcorn and he started taking that. Two table spoons in the morning and two at night, he didn't like the taste much so I went and got the capsules and he took four in the morning and four at night. Within three days he was feeling better, out of bed and his appetite was back. Keep him home for two more days then back to school. My son is sixteen and doesn't want to do any I say will help him but he was really sick. What a blessing this information is thank you everyone for your postings.

I was diagnosed with Mono along with my husband 4 months ago. we are both in our mid-fifties and have become very very ill. I read this website and decided to try extra virgin coconut oil, 4 tablespoons daily, Monolaurin 4 capsules in the a.m and 4 in the p.m., along with elderberry extract 350 mg in am and 350 mg in pm ( in lozenge form). We have been doing this daily for only 5 days. For the first time in four months my husband and I feel like we will survive the Mono. We had extreme body aches (mostly gone now) extreme fatique ( we can actually get dressed now and go to the store), Nausea, (gone now),day and night sweats (this has decreased for me and stopped for my husband). We are taking both the coconut oil and the capsules because we are desperate and it seems to be working. My husband is going to the health food store now to by some organic apple cider vinegar to help with the night sweats.

Hope this helps anyone who is dealing with Mono-it's not only for the young!!

My son is a freshman in college who was recruited as a qb for football. He was diagnosed with mono a wk. Before heading for pre-season training. His dr. Said that the onset of the mono was probably about 3 wks before since he had experienced the majority of symptoms at that time. When he was diagnosed he was severely fatigued. He did go to school however, spleen was enlarged and was only allowed to attend team meetings but could not practice or have any physical contact. I was desperate to help him so went online to see if there were any natural remedies that we might try. When I read positive feedback on the coconut oil. He started on capsules them immediately (4 in the morning and 4 in the evening) and when he went for second ultrasound of spleen 2 wks later, the size of spleen was completely back to normal, he resumed practice and is now feeling great! i too do not know if it was a coincidence or not but very happy we tried it! thank you!

Happy and relieved on Cape Cod!

I take 4 in the morning and 4 at night and I drink a TON of water all day. I highly recomend this remedy, it has helped me when nothing else could.

Coconut oil for mono....my niece had mono about 3 mos. Ago...the doctor said all she could do is rest .he told her it would be about 6-8 weeks before she would start to feel better. I immediately called my brother and told him to get some coconut oil. Within 2 days she was up walking around and had an appetite again...within 1 week she was back to normal---eating, playing with her friends, and feeling 100 %. It definitely works wonders....the kicker to the story---my other niece is a' nurse at a local hospital...i asked her if she told the doctors about her sister being cured of mono by using coconut oil-----she did---to which one of the doctors replied "We know it works, but because we can't prescribe it and make money from it, we don't tell people". He summed up what our health care system is all about...

I have been taking coconut oil for five or six years now. About five years ago, my daughter, who was in college at the time, came down with mononucleosis. I overnighted her a bottle of monolaurin, the main ingredient of lauric acid, which is only found in any quantity in coconut oil and human milk. My daughter was diagnosed on a Tuesday, she got the monolaurin on Wednesday and on Friday, nine days later she had no symptoms and quit taking it. The following Monday (that's 13 days post diagnosis) she had lab work done and was completely normal. Other dorm-mates of hers had mono for months. Coconut oil, lauric acid and monolaurin supposedly lise the lipid envelopes of lipid viruses and bacteria.

Most colds are caused by lipid enveloped viruses as are a number of major viral infections.

Just last Saturday, a friend of mine called to tell me he had a horrible cold and had made an appointment to see and ENT physician on Monday. I told him to take three tablespoons of coconut oil. When I saw him on Monday, he was obviously fine. He told me he had taken two tablespoons on Saturday and Sunday and was fine on Monday so he cancelled his doctor's appointment.

I take it all the time but every now and then I run out. Usually I will get sick when I do. Then I go get some more. It is particularly effective for sinus infections. I just snort some into my sinus cavities. Most people are amazed when I prescribe it and it works. But I have seen it happen so many times now, I just expect it to work.
