ALCOHOL (ethyl alcohol). – Decay of the Teeth Prevented . – Use dilute alcohol as a tooth wash. Swish with alcohol and water mixed, 1 part to 4 part. From the Book: The Medical Genius 4th Ed., page 12,1894 by Stacy Jones M.D.

The old man I got this remedy from said this to me: When I get a bad toothache. I rinse the area with Jack Daniels, hold it in my mouth by the sore tooth for about a minute than spit it out. This works for me 9 times out of 10.

Listerine works for me just as well. I believe it's the alcohol that does the trick. Most of the time I get instant relief with out having to repeat this method. Rarely I'll have to do it more than once.

Toothache pain will be gone in minutes if you hold a large swallow of whiskey in the mouth for 5 minutes.
