I’ve had heel pain on opposite foot after having Total Knee Replacement on other leg. Two months later after TKR I started having severe heel pain. Five months later after heel w/not go away, I went through physical therapy for two months. The pain lessened a little but never went away. A year later after going on vacation and walking a long distance thru the airport, heel/ankle swelled up & pain was so bad I was hobbling around. Three months later went to see an orthopedic specialist who recommended going to physical therapy again for 2-3 months. Then if no improvement would remove bone spur by surgery. This Dr have wonderful reviews. I started researching Earth Clinic, ACV wrap overnight, castor oil packs overnight, 1/8 teaspoon of borax in 2 liters of water. Another recommended soaking heel in hot water with 1/2 cup borax with 1/4 cup ammonia to kill fungus that got into bone. Severe lack of calcium caused bone Spurs.

I tried all of the above but religiously took 3 capsules of calcium for a little over 2 months & pain has diminished quite a bit. I can rotate my ankle with slight pain, it’s a huge improvement.

I have been taking 1000 mg of Calcium/day for several years as I have a family history of osteoporosis. I have recently developed moderate heel spurs on both feet, as well as bone spurs on my wrist and along the spine. The bone spurs are thought to be a result of psoriatic arthritis. Calcium has not prevented them.

Hi I would like to thank this site for helping me cure my heel pain. I stubbled upon this site while trying to find a cure for my pain. I read everything from people who were suffering like me with similar symptoms. I was almost hopeless and was thinking about surgery to relieve my pain. I read in this site that some people used ACV and some people used calcium. I was planning to go and get the ACV.

I decided to use the calcium pills that I had sitting in my medicine cabinet which I don't use regularly. I took the first night two tablet which were 600 mg each. I felt that the pain was better when I got out of bed and took my first few steps. I was so amazed and surprised at what two tablets had done. The next day I took two tablets at night and the pain was even less. Today is my third day and I cannot believe it. I am almost painfree. I will continue using calcium supplements so that my pain stays away. So, I thank God, who guided me to your site and I thank you for helping people like me. Thank you! Thank you! For this wonderful site.

Hi Laura;

Years ago my Chiropractor had a formula using calcium, i.e., Cal-Acid EM, #325, that he gave to his patients that have heel spurs. His recommendation was to take one tablet every hour until yawning occurred the first day. Then take one tablet every two to three hours for the next five days. Then maintenance was two tablets two to three times per day. Hope this is useful.

Calcium Supplementation to eliminate heel spurs --

I am a massage therapist. My client had a painful heel spur, his Dr. suggested surgery. I suggested he take some calcium supplements.

He decided to give it a try. I can't remember how long it took but the pain went away completely and doesn't come back but he continues to take the calcium on a regular basis. I think he eats the ones that come in chocolate. Let me know if anyone has tried this!

When it comes to heel spurs, there is only one good cure. As we age, we require more and more Calcium because our absorption drops to about 25%. What does this mean? It means that when we don't get enough calcium, our body tries to compensate by getting it from elsewhere in the body. In other words, it takes calcium out of the bones. That is what causes a heel spur, and by taking calcium pills, as well as some other basic vitamins and supplements, you can reverse a heel spur.
