Terri & Veronica, I have read all these "miracle stories" of zinc oxide cream. Thought I had the miracle too when I woke up and it was gone. Problem is, it was NOT gone. It was just merely hidden by the zinc oxide but when you washed it off, there is was again.

I will continue to try but no miracle yet for me.

Robert in Chicago.

I was diagnosed with Grovers last September. I’m 67 and have never had any skin issues, I’m in great shape but I was very stressed for months when this Disease hit me.

I’ve tried all the cortisone creams and they have been useless. I tried Chinese medicine, brewing a prescription of dried herbs and roots from an herbalist who cured my fibroids 20 years ago, but gave up after two months of that. My dermatologist tried antibiotics and Zyrtec, but didn’t help. It’s progressed from my back to stomach to one leg and two shoulders and forearms. It is really uncomfortable, unsightly, and ruins my quality of life.

My doctor injected me with Dupixent last week and it worked for a day. I’ll try another injection in a week. It costs $3300, but my health insurance covers it. Has anyone had Grovers go to their face? Or privates? I’m dreading that. I tried the zinc oxide and that seems to have stopped the itch as of today. Thank you, bloggers who suggested that. And, I made my first cilantro smoothie, which tastes great. I am praying this goes away and never comes back. Has that happened to anyone? Why can’t they find a cause and a cure for this awful disease?

I'm a 69 year old female and tried zinc oxide! It's awesome!! I put in on last night and the red areas were gone this morning. This is the first thing that worked for me.

I have also just gotten a new flare up of "Grovers" and is getting worse with my workouts. The doctor prescribed a steroid cream to be used for 2 weeks. Was not seeing much difference. Did some investigating on this website and others and decided to try a different approach. Applied Triple Antibiotic on the spots and covered with Zinc Oxide..in 24 hours already see an improvement. Itching has decreased, spots not red and not as raised. Will also supplement with Vitamin A as I have read this is critical as well.

Will keep all posted over the next week or so of this :).

Zinc Oxide 1000% definitely works. I am a 50 year old female and had Grovers rash on chest and stomach for about 6 months. I tried so many things (tea tree, antispectic cream, prescription cream) and nothing made any difference. After reading this page I tried zinc oxide and within 24 hours it is 90% better. Thanks to all who shared this info.

I have suffered from Grover's Disease on and off for years. I have recently found a remedy that stops it in it's tracks. ZINC OXIDE. I used the cream for diaper rash, and it immediately stopped the itch and was drastically improved by the next morning and gone within a couple of days. I cannot understand how the medical field does not know this. Please try it and I pray for you that it works as well!

Grover's Disease:

I purchased a Diaper Rash Cream with zinc oxide yesterday and rubbed it on my affected areas. When I woke up this morning, the rash is almost gone. I would recommend this.

I am a 36-year-old woman and was diagnosed with Grover's Disease after seeing 5 different doctors and having two biopsies. It began at the end of December and it's now the end of May and I'm just now healing completely.

When I saw the dermatologist who finally diagnosed me, I was at the end of my rope. The rash was all over my back, neck, and chest, and speckled on my hips, legs, arms--well, it was pretty much everywhere. It was burning and itching and I just wanted to peel my skin off. When the biopsy came back, I was so happy to have an answer but disheartened to know that there is no real cure. The doctor told me to take 10,000 iu of vitamin A and a vitamin E capsule every day, to keep the rash well hydrated with cetaphil cream, and to see him in 6 weeks.

Initially, this regimen did help a bit, as the itching went away almost instantaneously. However, after the bumps remained so I began to research other treatments and found the boards here at Earth Clinic to be the most helpful. I began taking many supplements in addition to the A and E, including garlic pills, copper, zinc, D, and a probiotic. I also began drinking bentonite clay and eating a lot of cilantro to do a heavy metal cleanse. During the time, I've been off of gluten and alcohol as well. At night, I would break open 3-4 vitamin A capsules and mix them with vitamin E oil I got at the pharmacy, and cover my rash in it. In areas that were prone to sweat, like my chest and neck, I would put a medicated powder that contained zinc.

The rash was improving, but very slowly. I had to stop taking the zinc tablets because I kept throwing them up when they interacted with the copper. My face began to break out terribly, and I realized that I was probably just putting too many supplements in my body, so I decided to strip it down to the bare minimum: A, E, and garlic, along with the clay and cilantro.

The rash was still there, but slowly improving. I discovered by accident that the zinc was the thing that was helping. On Mother's Day, I wanted to wear a dress but my back was covered in red spots, so I decided to try covering it up with a thick makeup I have: Dr. Jart Dis-A-Pore. It covered beautifully and I had the confidence to go out in public without worrying that people were staring at my back and shoulders, even though the texture was still very bumpy. I left it on for a couple of days and when I finally washed it off, I realized that many of the bumps had healed completely. I looked at the ingredients of the makeup, and Zinc Oxide was one them, which got me to thinking...

I went to Costco and bought two double packs of Honest Company's Mineral Sunscreen, which is 19% zinc oxide and have been covering my body in it since Saturday. Today is Tuesday, and I am happy to say that the bumps on my back are pretty much non-existent now and all the others are healing up very quickly. I also added the zinc supplements back into my diet, but am sure to take them on a full stomach with no copper. I have still been taking the clay and cilantro as well, but I really feel like the zinc was the thing that made the biggest difference. The results were dramatic, and practically came overnight.

Again, yes, I have tried many different supplements and therapies, but I honest to God feel zinc is the thing making the most difference. This whole experience has been such a nightmare, I wanted to share my findings here in case I could help one other person avoid the suffering I went through. I'm looking forward to seeing my dermatologist soon and reporting my findings and I can only hope that he takes me seriously enough to help his other patients.

Hi, I was diagnosed with Grovers Disease by a dermalogogist in Vienam (USA doctor) he did not explain the implications of the anti-biotics he subscribed to me, the RARE side effects being light sensitivity. This being me I did exhibit! He sunscribed several differant tablets & creams. None of them worked, I bought babies nappy rash talcum powder (Contains ZnO-Zinc Oxide) also read about GARLIC tablets, so bought them.

Within several weeks applying baby nappy rash powder and taking a 1000mg tablet of odourless garlic the rash had gone. I thought this strange so stopped taking tabs and using powder for a few days. GROVERS reappeared! Restarted using the powder and taking the tabs and GROVERS went away again!

I do not know if this will work for all suffers but it did work for me, don't know why it works, Zinc Oxide is good for all basic skin problems but how it works on GROVERS I have no idea!

Both treatments do not cause any harmful effects, the woese that cam happen is you develope an allergy to GARLIC!

It has been 4 months sonce the last signs of this terrible disease and I am glad this treatment worked for me!
