Update: It took a full 48hrs to completely stop my diarrhea. It was my fault for letting it fester for 3 days, while continuing to eat what was causing it; but that fried chicken did not taste "off" at all.

When I read another poster here pointing out that diarrhea is started when your body seizes all available water to dilute toxins. Omigoodness, I really did not do good for my body, did I? Since I KNOW that our bodies cannot send us an informative text message, I realize I should have heard the strong screaming signal that it was sending when the diarrhea first started.

If I ever have diarrhea again, the first thing I'll do is to fast for 24 hrs, to give my body a chance to clean up whatever I just polluted it with. Lesson learned, the hard way.

Take care of yourselves, everyone.

ACV for diarrhea, relief might be a few hours

I just wanted to point out that while many posters found immediate relief from using ACV to stop their diarrhea, but this is not always the case.

After having symptoms for 3 days, I finally clued-in to what may be causing it; the fried chicken I'd eaten 1pc of every day. Doh. So I of course came here to read others' experiences with ACV and diarrhea relief, while drinking my cup of ACV and waiting for relief. I did experience quick relief in my tummy & bowels, but it did not instantly stop the diarrhea. I ended up drinking 2 Tbsp of ACV in a coffee cup of really cold water AND 1 packet of stevia. This was very palatable and refreshing. I ended up having 2 more cups that day, but still had it the next morning, but to a way lesser extent. So I have chugged another cup this morning and will see what happens. But I am so grateful to my ACV for getting me feeling better and ambulatory, both almost immediately - but it still took another 24 hrs (so far) to stop it completely. My point is: don't give up. This will help you cuz ACV is a miracle from our Maker, swear to Heavens.

Healthy healing, everyone.

Apple Cider Vinegar -

I had an issue where I was actually leaking water. I went on line and did some research and realized that it could be caused by either a virus or infection. I was going to make a doctors appointment but first visited Earthclinic where people were reporting good results with ACV. I took three tablespoons of ACV mixed in a cup with warm water and honey and within 15 minutes the gurgling in my bowel stopped. Took another one half an hour later then went to bed.

Woke up the next morning and had a smooth bowel movement with no excess water. Half an hour later had another similar BM. Nice and smooth. Problem solved. Thanks to Earthclinic and everyone who posted.

Apple Cider Vinegar works for diarrhea.

I developed terrible runs from antibiotics..Runs lasted two weeks with no help in site except for over the counter temporary fixes.. Read the post about ACV and tried it out full strength three times a day ..After two days, I'm happy again, things are back to normal.. It's not an immediate fix so just keep doing ACV until the breakthrough.. Thanks be to God and thank you all for the recommendation..

I was hit with some kind of stomach bug/virus and initially thought it was food poisoning. Just diarrhea and very tired. No vomiting but some nausea. Duration was about 2-1/2 days of straight bathroom, followed by 1-1/2 days of slowly recovering. For 48 hours I ate nothing. I added a teaspoon of ACV to a glass of water and was extremely nervous that my stomach wouldn't respond well, but it handled it fine. I just wanted to lend my experience to reassure people that your stomach can handle it, even in a really fragile state. Just make sure it's diluted; a small bit in a large glass of water. I also had a few little sips of plain kefir.

ACV does work for diarrhea. It acts very quickly. Starts you burping within 10 minutes. 1 tablespoon in 4 oz. of water. I used it 2 times a day.

Indigestion goes away almost immediately. It has to be the non filtered type of ACV.

My wife had a case of chronic diahhroeah. In the past, with loose or runny motions, one or two junket tablets, taken with a glass of water has done the trick. This time, not so lucky and after three days, went to the chemist - still nothing worked.

Finally at 5.30am this morning, remembered this site and had a look - apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons in a glass of water! My wife dislikes the taste of ACV, so I suggested she take it in a glass of flat lemonade. 15 minutes later - No diahhroeah. 10.30am had another dose and all seems fine.

Thank you Earth Clinic. Hope this helps someone else.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Diarrhea

I make a tea out of the Apple Cider Vinegar. I put cloves, allspice and crushed cinnamon sticks in a cheese cloth and soak it in hot tea. After it cools I add the ACV and drink it.

Apple Cider Vinegar worked for my husband's diarrhea too. He used to take Imodium whenever he had diarrhea but lately the drug can no longer cure it and he felt bloated. So I followed the advice of EC contributors and have him take 2 tablespoons of ACV mixed in 8 oz. water. It worked fast and he does not complain of stomach discomfort or diarrhea since then.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Diarrhea:

I agree with another writer who wrote this stuff is miraculous. It tastes bad, but the results are so amazing, I am happy to chug it.

I put 2T of apple cider vinegar--just the regular kind from my grocery store--into 6 ounces of water. I could feel the difference in about 15 minutes--this after four weeks of agony, and countless doses of probiotics, vomiting and diarrhea.

My guess is that I developed c. difficile colitis related to months of antibiotic use. Anyway, I could barely eat, I was miserable and nothing worked. This did. In spades. Today I have no symptoms.

Last night I drank 3 glasses of the mixture. Today I have sipped on one glass, throughout the day, not because I need it, only because I am in awe of it. This stuff is like some elixir of the gods. Whatever miraculous thing it did to my body, I'm all in. Thanks Earth Clinic .
