Wow! And to think I had a loquat tree right outside the door of my house all this time! I've tried this and it really works! It also tastes great! Recently I have had allergies and not even insulin would lower my blood sugar. Finally I remembered about the loquat leaves and made tea... My blood sugar came down and my allergies even felt better!!! Funny, usually what you need is right close by - but I can get so caught up looking for a 'cure' that I don't notice what is in my own front yard!!! Thanks for posting this and for this website. In light and love

In response to Diana from Austin, I learned from a Mexican friend from Acapulco to use loquat leaves. Take seven leaves and heat in about 2 quarts of water. I do it overnight in a crock pot. I drink it over ice cubes after the tea had cooled. It lowers the blood sugar reading for me, about 40 points in three hours, varies with the amount you drink. He claimed he took it regularly for some time and his blood sugar level is normal and he can eat a normal diet. I am using it to keep at 120 or below. I have never had it make the reading too low, but certainly you must monitor, and I have no information or experience with interactions. Salud! Aj, Washington, Utah
