I've never had PD and was recently diagnosed with it. My naturopath recommended the apple cider vinegar along with honey, vitamin C and probiotics. She thought yeast might be the culprit based on what my lips looked like. The directions were as follows: splash a little bit of apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and lightly touch the skin around your lips - once a day. The vinegar will dry out the lips and take away moisture yeast needs to thrive. 10 days should be enough, but everyone is different. Meanwhile, apply honey on the lips for moisture and to prevent cracking once or twice a day. Use a double doze of probiotics during the 10 days, adhere to a well balanced diet and take vitamin C. My naturopath suggested 2000mg a day for me. Overall, my PD took around 3 weeks to clear. The important thing is to watch out for infections from the dried lips and consult a doctor/naturopath if you feel the rash has changed.

YEA!!! I have NEVER had a good skin. In my teens I did the lot, steaming, OTC creams, liquids perscription stuff nothing worked. Then about 15 years ago I started getting hot red patches, this was the start of rosseaca. BAck to the GP, more creams pills andhospital visits nothing. I spent 100's on miracle cures, some helped a little, but never enough to justify the huge price tag. In the end I was prescribed Veil Cover Makeup. This was horrible. and made it worse by bring me up in spots. Finally I found tht rooibos tea applied to my face helped tremendously, and is also great for nappy rash (I used it on my grandaughter). However the past 5 days my skin has gone in to freefall, and not even that helped. I had masses off white pimples, red imflamaed areas, and my face was so sore. I tried the ACV cure, and I am amazed so far. This morning when I got up my face looked as if it had had boilling water thrown at it over night, and felt like it too. So before my bath this morning, I gently cleaned it with warm water and dabbed ACV over it, yeah it stung a bit, but not that bad, and not for long. Afterhalf an hour I looked in the mirror and I had a differnt face!!!! Its not all gone of course, nothing would work that fast, but the redness was down by about 50%, the soreness has gone 100%, and my skin looks less raw. This was just using cheap supermarket ACV from ASDA (.79p a bottle). I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow to find a health food shop and get a bottle of raw ACV.

I also have been suffering off and on from Perioral dermatitis. I was using a steroid cream I had prescribed for something else. Big Mistake. I had to go through the 2 weeks of awful withdrawals, but luckily I had been warned how bad it would be from this site and similar ones. Definitely DELUTE the ACV and make sure you get the ORGANIC as well.

I mostly used this topically, as I find the 2 tbls really hard to drink, even with juice, BUT when I do it really helps out heart burn for like a week at a time just from one dose!:) I use ACV every other day at least. It will burn like heck at first, esp. on delicate skin-my was very bumpy, peely, and pink from withdrawal reaction.

What ever you do...quit your steroids. I was also on Flonase for my mild allergies; I thought back to when I first was prescribed that and it correlates to the first signs of my PD!

Best of luck- It has been about 5 weeks since I quit the cream and started using ACV and I have hardly any red left and only 1 or 2 tiny remnants of a bump. :)

2 more tips:
Crush up an aspirin and mix it into plain organic yogurt-on those bad days- make a soothing mask and relieves the swelling of the bumps a little.

And also rest your face in your clean hands with cold water in the sink. This seems to help a little as well.

I guess i have had this mouth rash problem for quite some time now but never admitted to having a problem. I blamed it on allergies. Now that i think about all the mornings i would make Green Tea and press the warm tea bag on my face. This helped temporarily, really just stopped the irritating feeling, never took away the discoloration. It has been 48 hours since i first used the ACV applied by a cotton ball (2 morning applications, 2 night applications) My face has not looked so good in years. I am 25 and have had this for about 8 years now. Wow am i happy i learned this trick from you guys. I will be starting my probiotic supplements when they get delivered and will be sure to try out the yogurt too. Thank you so much. If i could see you guys i would hug you :)

I had to write and leave feedback as another testimonial that ACV is a miracle cure. I have suffered with Dermatitis/ Rosacea (the doctors couldn't decide what it was) on my forehead for 6 years. I used steroid creams for years that controlled it but never cured it but even they stopped having an effect in the last year or so. I saw ACV testemonials on this website so I tried it. Within a day or 2 the ACV I applied had stopped the spots appearing, the the redness and swelling went down. I use it every night and i'm now free of all symptoms - it only took about a week to cure it all together! It's so so frustrating that doctors don't/ can't tell you about these things. Thank you so much to this website - It's changing a lot of people's lives.

Dermatitis herpetiformis & ACV: i was struck by repeated bouts of what a dermatologist diagnosed as herpes zoster or shingles. went through a valtrex treatments each time the rashes appeared on my arms and legs. slowly emerging and very itchy bumps that would, over two weeks, become clear liquid-filled bumps. i suspected it had to do with infected scratches from dog toenails, as i was working with rescue dogs. lo and behold, it was - and my sister, a doctor across the country, had suspected dermatitis hep the whole time. it was much later that i stumbled upon ACV as an excellent cure that speeds up the cycle of the rash. i soak a gauze square with it and tape it to the affected area changing it in the morning and at night. such a relief to have a non-med cure! also, i have found that if i wash the scratched area immediately with anti-bacterial soap, it can prevent the rashes.:)

I am just so delighted and amazed and I hope to have continued improvement. When I was sixteen I had PD and was put on prednisone and given the allergy tests. For months I had this embarrassing rash around my nose and mouth. At 43 I again started to get this rash that has not gone away despite all the normal medical recomendations. My life is very stressful and skin inflammation is one of the results of that. Praise God, because after putting the organic apple cider vinegar on my rash, it is starting to dissapear after 7 hours. I have spent so much money and time trying to get rid of this as it is such an awful rash. At first, it got itchy and red, but it is starting to feel better and I did not expect that the first day. Mine was an oozing, spreading rash that was starting to travel to my chin. I did the steroid route last time I had this, yes it helped short term, but perhaps that is why it came back 20 years later.

Thank you so much for helping me, all you friends you have suffered from PD. I will keep you informed about how this continues. Blessings, Chris

Hello Friends! I have used your site many times to look up remedies for common ailments, thank you for being here! Over the past 6 months, a rash has come and gone. It started after a nasty sinus infection and was limited to the areas just under my nostrils. I figured it was due to the sinus infection, but once the infection went away, the rash was still there. Then it added a few little spots at the end of my eyebrows. Slowly, it began to spread the the entire area around my nose and mouth, but not ever touching the lips. It would come and go and each time I would use a prescription steroid cream and it would seem to help a bit, but the rash keeps coming back more fierce than the last breakout. Finally, when this last flareup was so bad that I couldn't go out in public, I came here and read about ACV, have been using it topically and ingesting it, and it's working already. I have confidence that it will clear up in no time. This past weekend, my composite PH level was a shocking 6.0! My diet is 80-90% organic and I thought I was very healthy, I was surprised that I'm acidic. So HERE'S MY QUESTIONS: Is this perioral dermatitis? (I was basing the determination strictly on photos and descriptions I've found on the internet.) Is it related to my PH level? Is it possible it's the mites you write about? Will the ACV be enough? Should I add the Borax solution as well? Thanks again for being here, I refer to your website for every little thing that ails us! Keep up the great work!

Apple Cider Vinegar. Worked great on dermatitis on my face, base of the nose and eyebrows! Just once a week and the problem is gone.

Here is my 2 cents. I have had an ongoing rash on my cheeks on both sides of my nose for about a year off and on. I considered spices and alcohol as culprits but even stopping both completely did not solve the problem. I read about ACV here and had nothing to lose. 3 days of topical use and my face cleared right up. That was over a month ago. (I have added spice and alcohol back with no problems) And in case you are wondering about the drinking.. it is only maybe a bottle of vino per week. Also the ACV was not the mother" but regular store bought stuff that did leave a nice burn upon application. ONE MORE USE: 2 weeks ago bringing in wood for the fire. Something on the wood left an immediate skin rash on the left inner arm where I was carrying the wood. Red, bumps, itch..... ouch! I mixed up white vinegar with baking soda and applied and the itch left, the swelling went down and the rash was gone in 2 day.. 3 days later it reappeared and I reapplied just white vinegar and it is gone. Not sure what was on the wood.
