Chronic Pelvic Pain And Melatonin

I was noticing that EC has a limited selection of remedies when it comes to Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP). I was just reading the following abstract which suggests that melatonin may be a viable remedy for CPP as discussed here :

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12002473/

Here is a relevant quote from the human study :

' Additionally, melatonin significantly reduced chronic pelvic pain, with a large effect size (p < 0.001, η² = 0.18, Cohen’s d = 0.93). '

They used 5 mg of oral melatonin for two months to good effect in the above study for CPP. Another option might be the use of melatonin gel (MG) applied topically to the painful area. Here is a description of how to make MG here :

https://www.earthclinic.com/supplements/melatonin-gel.html

Or Melatonin Lotion here :

This information seems fairly important as CPP is relatively common, affecting one in seven women in the US alone.

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Krosmon (Los Angeles, Ca) on 11/25/2013

I have almost constant pain in the pelvic area. My physician had a sonogram done but could find nothing to cause it. I am also going to a holistic doctor who is working on it with chiropractic treatments - it gets better, but then kicks in again if I walk very much or eat sugary foods. I am 77 years old and weigh about 300 lbs., which I have weighed for about 40 years - the weight will not come off and stay off. I've been on so many diets that I had to have gallbladder surgery which I know was caused by the dieting. Other than that, I am in good health. But it is so painful to walk much and I need to move the body while I still can. Any ideas about an herbal treatment for this?
