Having never had a boil before, I misdiagnosed a large boil on my thigh at first as a spider bite because of the hardened, red center and itchiness. After nearly 3 weeks with no healing, I did a bit of research online I discovered that I had a boil instead. Searching for a natural remedy, I tried turmeric after reading the testimonials on this website. It started working within hours. Now, 24 hours later, the boil is draining, the swelling has diminished and the pain has completely subsided. Absolutely amazing. I am so glad that I was able to avoid the drugs my doctor would have no doubt prescribed for me.

Hi. My husband has had recurrent boils. During the first outbreak he was treated with antibiotics. It took over a week for the boils to drain and go. The next one I treated with a turmeric & ginger paste applied with a little heat & changed every half hour until the boil burst. This time I found this site and gave him turmeric in water. The pain was relieved immediately. The boil was in his ear. It burst this morning with very little pain compared to the last several. I used an ear candle to extract the contents from in his ear canal. He also used oil pulling last night and this morning and a large amount of nasal mucus was removed. He will continue with the turmeric in water 3 x daily and the oil pulling 2 x daily to remove the toxins that are causing the boils. He has had sore ears for many years ever since he was a child. He had used a steroid cream to stop the itching and cracking. Maybe a build up of this is now causing these boils?

My friend has been taking turmeric in water as recommended on your site for a little over a week and had been seeing positive results. His bad outbreaks started clearing up and new ones were very small and short-lived. Then, due to stressful circumstances, he forgot to take it for a couple of days and started getting more outbreaks. He is taking it again and hopefully this will stop the new ones.

I started taking turmeric, capsule form, a couple weeks ago. At first the cysts rose up as if to riot, but in a week they all went down. Like a lot of things it became worse before it got better and it was worth it. I bought the pills from the health store and Wow! They're not cheap. I looked on puritan.com and found that I can get three bottles for a dollar less than what I paid for the one I have now!

I had several small boils over the summer due, I believe, to the heat and sweating. I ended up on antibiotics for one that was quite bad. Just as that one cleared up, another started. I did not want to go on antibiotics again, so I decided to look for something natural and came across your site. I figured since it had just started, I could give it a try for a few days, and if it didn't clear up, then go to the doctor. Before I managed to stop and get the turmeric, another two more cropped up. Now there were three to deal with. I used 1tsp of turmeric in hot water, allowed to steep for five mins, then strained and drank as "tea." Overnight I noticed that the boil seemed to have stop getting any larger, and the pain wasn't as bad. None of the three ever broke the skin, they did form the fibrous knots (as most boils do), but those are now starting to dissolve away. I have been drinking the turmeric tea for two weeks, three times per day. A few small boils also cropped up under my arms (where the first one was) only to be gone within a day or so. I believe the turmeric fought them away as they cropped up. None ever became inflamed or broke the skin. I did take acidophilus tablets three times a day also, as there were comments about the turmeric possibly causing yeast infections (which is what the antibiotic did when I had to take that... one reason I didn't want to go back on it.) The turmeric was great, and I am going looking for it in pill form to continue this supplement. thanks!

I am not from USA but from India where the climate is quite hot and humid through out the time. I have had cases of boils which used to swell to the size of golf balls, break and after the puss flows out, the pain subsides. the hard core would still take a few days to go off. I had a boil on my buttocks which was painful and grew in size and broke. Barely had the pain subsided another appeared and a third smaller one came up. These were also growing in size and promising to be painful. It was at this time that i happened to search the web and found this site of natural cures. I also took a bath in which i added salt and tea tree and lavender oil. This morning I found that the boil had lessened in size and was less painful. I am continuing today with the same program. I read your recommendation about the cure for staph being turmeric. I tried it and it worked. I used it in conjunction with a wet poultice of green clay. It cleared up the boil in 3 days and although 3 other little ones popped up, they never developed and disappeared on their 2nd day. We used this remedy after going to the doctor and getting antibiotics for a staph infection on my young son's leg. He took them and it went away but it came back on another leg a few days after we finished the treatment. The doctor said he had treated about 300 cases of staph in the past few weeks alone. He thought maybe the heat was causing the outbreak. Finding the turmeric was a wonderful stroke of luck, as I did not want to use antibiotics again, so I appreciate you posting this remedy. I have since found out that fresh turmeric root juice is a common remedy for staph on the Big Island of Hawaii, where staph is rampant, and with further research I have found out that turmeric is a potent healer of many ailments. Thanks again, Amanda

I found your cure using turmeric and tried it starting on Monday. \ It took a couple of days taking turmeric in water, but they are going away! I think I will continue to take this for a week or so and then stop. Hopefully that will put an end to the outbreaks. I suggest that women supplement this spice with yogurt containing acidophilus. I have heard that too much turmeric can cause yeast infections. Thanks so much for posting this great cure.

The turmeric in water 3x a day worked great on my boyfriend, who was experiencing his 2nd large boil on the face. The boil started to go away after the first day (he did make it burst with iodine though). I made him stop taking the turmeric after 4 days because I started to experience a terrible burning after sex! It went away after I washed carefully. I doubt people will connect the dots and see turmeric's "side-effect", so I thought I'd mention it. But it is a fantastic cure for boils.

Thursday, October 05, 2006, I developed a bump on the apple of my right cheek. It was itchy, tender, and it had a pinching aching feeling. As it quickly got bigger, I assumed it was either a cyst or a boil. By Saturday, it had become so big I got worried so I checked out the advice from the book, "Doctor's Book of Home Remedies." It suggested putting a warm/hot compress on it. I did this but it did not help. It turned the skin where the boil is (assuming it is a boil) very red. I think it may have even made it bigger. Anyway, it was not improving. In fact, the itching and pinching feeling intensified. I couldn't even lay on that side of my face to sleep and I had to be very gentle washing that part of my face. On Monday, I looked up some research on the Internet and came across this Website. I read about the "Turmeric remedy" and immediately started the procedure especially since the boil had not even come close to coming to a head. Since Monday night I have been taking a teaspoon of turmeric in warm water 3x a day. When I first started this remedy it totally relieved all the uncomfortable symptoms. The itchy, pinching, aching, soreness, and even the little bit of burning sensation was gone. It also reduced a little bit in size. It has now been a little more than 3 days that I've been following this remedy (have drank a total of 10 glasses of the remedy so far) but nothing more is happening. Yes, all the discomforts/tenderness are gone, but the boil is still here. No, it's not getting bigger, but it's not getting smaller either...it's not going away, it hasn't disappeared at all. As a matter a fact it is just staying exactly the same for almost 4 days. Is this normal or am I just being impatient. By the way, I have not become constipated at all from the turmeric and I am also doing the oil pulling procedure. I would appreciate any feedback at all. Thanks.

i noticed i had yet another boil developing on my bottom and yesterday i took three servings of acidophilus (morning, noon, night) and last night drank 1 tsp of turmeric mixed with warm water. I also took a bath in which i added salt and tea tree and lavender oil. This morning I found that the boil had lessened in size and was less painful. I am continuing today with the same program. I am very excited with the results. this remedy keeps a boil from breaking the skin. I am forever grateful to those who supplied this info.

Noticed a boil trying to start on my face, so i read your feedback and decided to try it. But instead of drinking it with water i went and bought some in pill form. I took 450 MG. That was last night, i woke this morning to a bump not as bad as the day before and i could tell it looked much better just overnight. THANKS EVERYONE!!!! I say use it!! IT WORKS!! Hopefully within a few days it will be gone i am continuing to take the medicine. along with vitamins.

I had a boils breaking out on my wrists and hands (weird)...

The turmeric was amazing. I took just 1/8 tsp in water last night ... This morning the dime-sized boil (which hadn't broken the skin yet) had disappeared. This remedy works!

Thanks.

I tried the tumeric paste mixed with water and put it on top of the boil and covered it with gauze and the boil opened within hours. It worked quickly and my boil was so painful that I could barely walk.
