Hi all,
I had bv for a long time...n it was really bad.....but i am extremely happy to say that now its been completely cured... as i had read in a lot of articles that yogurt, curd, buttermilk contain probiotics that help body regain its natural microbial flora, I increased my daily buttermilk intake...thus, i recommend a glass of buttermilk, per day for getting rid of bv....
If you do not get ready buttermilk, you just have to take two spoons of yogurt, mix well and add drinking water to make a glass full of buttermilk..
This is really an effective way, rather than taking tablets and other medications.

Better But With Side Effects
Hello! I recently discovered problems "down there" - a new odor and a new discharge that wasn't there before. After doing some research, I think I have B.V. I don't currently have insurance (I'm American living in Germany and it's hard to get anything not private and expensive) so I haven't seen a doctor. I'm more interested in home remedies anyway. I read on this site about taking folic acid and acidopholus pills - I happened to have some from the states so I've been taking them for two days with very good results. I also tried the whole dipping-the-tampon-in-yogurt thing, which is very messy! I tried this yesterday and today - yesterday I just dipped a tampon without an applicator in "joghurt pur" (translates to pure yogurt, which I'm hoping means it has live cultures in it. It's also the organic "bio" kind) and inserted it and felt fine. Today I tried taking a tampon out of an applicator, filling the applicator with yogurt and inserting it, figuring it'd be similar to a yeast infection treatment that way, but I had bad cramping. Not like normal period cramping either. It was strange. So now I'm wondering if that was a bad idea. I took the tampon out, expecting discharge, but got nothing. 2 hours later, still nothing. Has anyone else tried the yogurt dipping and gotten cramps before? Or can anyone describe something else to try besides other pills? I can't get all the same stuff as in the U.S. I appreciate any advice, and thank all the ladies for the previous advice!!

Hi I understand all too well the discomfort and embrassement of BV. I to am a victim of this terrible problem. I am now a 32 year old BV free woman. This didn't happen over night. I first had my battle with BV at the age of 18.I just recently discovered the powerful powers of YOGURT! I was so fed up with BV doctor trip after doctor trip. It would go away for a week or two then I would be sitting at work of somewhere and get a whiff of some funk coming on! Me and two of my friends refer to it boy saying " I feel a WOOP coming on. At least one of us always keep a readily supply of meds that we could borrow from each other. Anywho, I'm talking too much. I inserted a tube of yogurt every night just before bedtime for 30 nights.( I did'nt have a boyfriend at the time) After doing this for 30 days I have been completely cured of BV for 1 year now. The yogurt that I used was Activia. Try this I have passed it on to many of my friends and everyone says that this works. You have nothing to lose but smelliness!

I tried monistat 1 day and it gave me 2nd degree burns and made me swell down there like you would not believe. I had to go to the ER and get it flushed out and be out on medication. After the burns healed, I used yogurt. Just put it in waited 20 min and then took a shower. Sleep with a pad so to catch any remaining yogurt.

Insert plain yogurt with a syringe or turkey baster. lay down as much as possible so it will not come down. A pad should be worn to catch the leakage. It really works and the itching will also stop almost instantly!!!!
