I have a deformed transverse vertebrae, from time to time it pinches a nerve in my low back and I am in severe pain for 1-2 weeks until I can manage to get several massages, stretch, etc. I read on this website that coconut oil works well for such a problem, so I decided to give it a try. I have used many other remedies on this site with great success, unfortunately it was not the case with the coconut oil. I purchased high quality organic coconut oil at whole foods, rubbed it very liberally on the effected area, to no avail. The pain is still very much there. At least my mom can use the coconut oil for her hypothyroidism, otherwise it would have been a complete waste of money!

I was ready to destroy you with a pissed off response, but 10-15 sec later.... whoa?!!! I don't know what is going on, or how it happens, or if it's a placebo effect, but the pain went away.

I started taking about a couple tablespoons at the start and end of the day. The pain isn't totally gone, but it dropped significantly (maybe 8 to a 4). I tried to make it hurt because I couldn't believe it, I succeeded, but it wasn't quite as painful pre coconut oil. I rubbed more on and pain dropped again. I really don't know how it works, but I'm just thankful. 10-15 seconds, I can't believe it.

I have had back pain for several years, of course sometimes worse than others. I was just looking through ec and ran across coconut oil for back pain. Mine is constant enough I toss and turn all night, and can't sit in same position for more than few minutes. I thought why not try the co even though I was skeptical I really had nothing to lose. I applied to my lower back before bed and sure enough pain eased off tremendously, probably 70-80%, I couldn't believe it. Next three nights I applied coconut oil before bed and I haven't tossed and turned at all. I don't know why it worked for me and am curious as to how. I don't know long term results but am definitley satisfied with the short term.

I was pleasantly surprised it worked! Every winter I suffer with lower back pain. I read about the coconut oil and had some so I thought well I'll try it (I didn't expect it to work) I was so surprised my back pain was gone within minutes I mean no pain! this is wonderful lol. I just took about a small amount maybe teaspoon full in my hand and rubbed it on my back...now I'm a happy camper! Thanks for the tip. Penny in TN

I have been having lower back pain for the last 4 days that was very aggrevating and I was walking bent over with a shuffling motion. I read that Coconut Oil could possible be a treatment. I purchase the liquid Coconut Oil in the vitamin section of the local Wal Mart. Ureka!! Within 10 seconds after applying a liberal portion of the Coconut oil, the pain was simple gone. This was a simple miracle. I also took 250 mg of Magnesium and a teaspoon of Baking Soda in water. Please, Please, pass this on to someone you know that has pain.

Coconut oil is wonderful for back pain! I hurt my back the day before leaving for vacation and worried all morning about it. I tried using the heating pad, the massager, taking some ibuprofren (my last resort), but nothing helped. A few hours later, I gave my dog a treat with coconut oil on it (which she loves) and as I was scooping it out, I took a bit of the coconut oil for myself. About 10 minutes later, I felt almost no pain and I began to wonder why. Could it be the coconut oil? I checked it out online and found some people who said they had success with it for back pain, so I took more. I am so pleased with how good I feel and how quickly it worked! I am taking it on my trip with me now and will always do so in the future!

Coconut Oil for back pain. I was in severe back pain for 6 days. I also had the flu for the first time. Today, I decided to look on earth clinic for something, anything that would make me back feel better. I had the heating pad on my back every day. I would alternate with ice packs. The ice packs helped a little. I saw that someone ate coconut cookies and it made their back feel better. I have coconut oil. Right away a took a nice amount in my hand and rubbed in my lower back and within 10 minutes the pain was gone. I've had the cure for my pain here the whole time. I also took 2 pain pills but I think the coconut oil worked right away. I'm feel so much better. I love this site!!!!!

I had back pain that was constant. I ate some coconut macroon cookies and my back pain was gone. At first I didn't know that coconut was good for anything, but I found it quite curious that my back pain was suddenly gone after having ate those cookies. I reseached and found that coconut is used in cures. So now I use coconut oil in everything. Especially if back pain comes up in conversation, I say 'take coconut oil or get the cookies'!
