Adult or baby aspirin can be used for canker sores. Coated aspirin should not be used.
Cautions for the Aspirin Treatment for Canker Sores
Do not use more aspirin for canker sores in a day than is recommended for oral use. The aspirin will be absorbed into the body and also swallowed. If you have a bleeding disorder, or low platelets, bear in mind that aspirin is used as a blood thinner and has anti-platelet properties. If you take prescription blood thinners, be sure that aspirin is compatible with your medication.
The aspirin cure for canker sores should not be used by anyone under the age of 18 if he also has chicken pox or the flu because of the risk of Reye's syndrome.
