Ionic Silver Not Changing to Colloidal Silver With Reducing Agent

Posted By Marnie (Madera, Ca) on 02/21/2018

Hi All! Anyone know why my ionic silver might not have changed to a light golden color after adding the 50/50 Karo Syrup/distilled water? I heated it to almost boiling and it’s still clear.

I grabbed the only Karo Syrup I saw on the shelf - but didn’t notice until after I had already used it that the syrup also contains salt and natural vanilla extract.

I have a SilverGen machine. I made a quart of ionic silver using distilled water. However, I cannot add any of the electrolyte solution (the washing soda) because the machine will not turn on if the water detects any level of ppm (total dissolved solids). So I must start with only pure distilled water. Perhaps that’s the reason I didn’t get the characteristic yellow color change to signal a change from ionic to colloidal silver?

At the highest setting, the SilverGen automatically shuts off once it reaches approximately 15ppm. I did make the batch at the highest setting so I could get it as close to 20 ppm as possible. The SilverGen maintains a constant current flowing through the solution (as opposed to putting out a constant voltage and thereby generating an increasing current in the solution as more silver particles get suspended in the water). The reason for this is so you end up with the smallest size silver particles in your end product.

Well, sure hope I can figure out how to turn it into colloidal silver. Anyone have any ideas? Many thanks!

Hi Marnie, I use the same Karo syrup and it does turn yellow, did you also add the electrolyte solution? It should be 5 drops of the reducing agent and 20 drops of the electrolyte. There are videos on this site on how to make both. Hope it helps!

Hi Dan, I did not use the electrolyte solution due to the type of colloidal silver generator that I have... it will not turn on if it detects anything above a very low ppm. So it really only works to make it with pure distilled water. I did add 5 drops of the Karo solution. Perhaps the lack of electrolyte is the reason for the lack of color change.

Hi Marnie, sorry for the late reply. I just add the electrolyte solution and the reducing agent once the process with the generator is done, so I don't need to run the colloidal solution again. Just add both of them and let it set/rest for 48 to 72 hrs and it will turn yellowish/golden color. In other words, just add both solutions once you run your distilled water thru the generator.Once process is finished, add both solutions.

Cheers!!

Dan

P.S If needed, you can use the colloidal immediately, no need to wait setting period, but is best to do so. By no means im an expert on this matter but been learning thru trials and errors and im getting excellent results!

Thanks Dan! I'll give that a try.
