Will Charcoal Help My Severe Bloating Problem

Posted By Glenda (Louisiana, USA) on 07/11/2015

I'm a 57 Years old woman and try to never go anywhere because of my stomach. I'm so ashamed and embarrassed. I never go out to eat with anyone because my stomach bloats and swells up so bad! I look like a walking blimp. I can't eat or drink anything without swelling up. I've had test run on colon and GI's . Doctor placed me on omeprezol once a day and more or less dismissed me but my issues are getting very depressing. How can I flatten my stomach back? Does the activated charcoal really work?? How do I take it in carbon form?

I had the same problem (and I am the same age and post menopausal). Yes, the charcoal caps will help; take around 560 mg. There should be directions on the bottle. Sometimes, I will take another cap an hour or so after the first 2 caps, if I am not better. Remember it soaks up all vitamins, etc, so don't take 2 hours before or after.

I would definitely be looking at the EC sections on yeast, alkaline balance and digestive enzymes. I have a chronic yeast issue and developed stomach bloating problems related to that. The yeast effects the enzyme level of the stomach, inhibiting digestion, hence the bloating. It may just be a simple enzyme issue, but yeast overgrowth after menopause was suddenly an issue for me. The apple cider vinegar remedy (Ted's) is the #1 thing to do for bloating in my opinion.
