Can Turpentine Therapy Help Methadone Detox?

Posted By Lindsay (Pittsburgh, Pa) on 09/04/2016

I have questions concerning turpentine therapy and drug detoxification specifically methadone therapy. There are many myths about methadone withdrawal. I've been off methadone for about 5 months. I'm not sure if in having post acute withdrawal or even if that exists as they say it does. Hard to trust doctors dealing with methadone because I don't trust their word or care. Anyways....having stomach issues...lots of bloating gas..loose bowel movements. I've always been a healthy bowel mover however this is different. I thought maybe it was parasitic...I consulted a friend with Lyme who is way into natural cures. She referred me to this website. I started reading about turpentine during these types of ailments and parasites. But what if it isn't parasitic? What if this is just a really long drug detox? Could the turpentine help that detox along? Would it be beneficial? Also if its parasitic then the turpentine would help anyway right? Thanks ahead of time for any reaponses.

Dear Lindsay,

I don't know anything about Turpentine for detox. I think turpentine is amazing stuff...maybe someone else will know...

Activated charcoal can be used to detox for all kinds of things. You can use capsules or tablets - 2 of either with a glass of water, twice a day between meals and not within 2 hours of other medications or supplements. Or, if this is difficult to accomplish, charcoal poultices over the liver 4 nights a week for a month or two.
