I read years ago that sleeping on a fluffy deep pillow in the same positions night after night can smother your scalp and cause the smothered areas to stop growing or break as well as facial sagging. I did an experiment. I slept without a pillow (only a flat towel) for 30 days. Sure enough, the area that had ceased growing (the back of my head and sides) began filling in AND my face looked younger. I went back to sleeping on a pillow and am now experiencing low growth again and even breakage in those areas, as well as a "hanging" tired look to my face. Go figure! Cat
