Apple Cider Vinegar and Borax Questions

Posted By Rajiv (India) on 07/18/2018

I have 2 questions

1) can Apple Cider Vinegar and baking soda be taken daily, there are concerns that baking soda contains Aluminium and may be harmful, won’t daily consumption weaken digestion

2) my 20 mule borax arrived today however some powder fell in my hands and there was itching for a very long time, is it normal or does it indicate that it is unsuitable for my body kindly advise

EC: Hi Rajiv:

We'll let our readers answer #2 as we're not sure about that, but re #1: Baking soda (sodium bicarb) does NOT contain aluminum. Baking powder does. Our contributor Ted from Bangkok always recommended 5 days on, 2 days off for any remedy or supplement, including this alkalizing remedy, the ACV and Baking Soda tonic.

Many times I have poured a handful of 20 mule team borax onto a wet washcloth and scrubbed my whole body with it. I even mix in baking soda and/or magnesium sulfate sometimes. I have never gotten itchy from it. I pour it onto my hair before shampooing sometimes. It never itches. I have scrubbed my face with it. It never itches.

Rajiv, I would be concerned your borax may have added fragrance or surfactants if it gave you that reaction. Please check the entire label very carefully and if you like repost back with the claimed ingredients. I am overseas currently and unable to immerse my hands in my borax at the moment, but will be happy to do that to test for any reaction when I return.

Note: I have bought borax on holiday with me, for it's antifungal, antifluoride and cleaning properties, I brush my teeth with smidge borax and water and swear they are actually whiter, I just do not have sufficient quantity as to immerse hands. Best to you.

Rajiv,

I have a friend who used borax to try and treat her arthritis, unfortunately it made here itch a lot even at very small dosing and even though it clearly made her arthritis better, she was not able to use it. Some people just can not tolerate borax, but that does not mean that boron won't work. Read up on boron and arthritis.
