Alkalizing Makes Urethra Super Irritated - Please HelpPosted By Denise (California) on 12/02/2021
My stomach gets irritated with ACV, even a very small diluted amount, betaine HCL also burns. Before I started alkalizing the urine pH started at 5.75. Just a small slice lemon or lime in water and baking soda until it stops bubbling makes the body too alkaline, usually about 8.0 on test strips. The urethera itches terribly when urine is that alkaline. Does anyone know why so alkaline with so little adjustment?
While I have an easily irritated urethera, why is so irritated because of alkalinity?
Over the years I have tried many remedies for the urethera. What can I do for limitation with alkalizing remedies? Years ago when I used Chanca Piedra, it burned the urethera like hell, but then it was much better for a number of years. Also, I read on this website that CP is contraindicated for a person with low calcium. I guess that indicates me because of osteopenia maybe 7 years ago when last tested. Also low thyroid.

Dear Denise,Well, this may be a long shot, but I have one idea that perhaps you haven't tried...gallbladder flush/cleanse.
Gallbladder issues do not always present with typical symptoms. Gallstones left me with ongoing digestive problems and I was constantly taking things to try and help.
After a diagnosis of stones I started doing flushes. I did 4 over the course of 4 months and did get out stones. Now I do them once or twice a year, when I start having digestive symptoms again.
My digestion is so, so, so much better now. Please read the stories on the gallbladder flush pages on this site. You may find some stories that parallel yours.
I would also encourage you to look into physical therapy. If you are horizontal a lot of the time to help with pain and not able to get much activity lack of muscle strength and flexibility can cause all sorts of pain and problems.
A pelvic floor physical therapist helped me immensely with bladder pain that I first thought was chronic UTIs. Alkalizing helped. But the results from PT have been astonishing. I was skeptical that tight muscles were the cause of my pain, but apparently they were.
I hope you find some solutions to get you feeling better!

Dear Mama to many,
I don't think the gallbladder flush is far-fetched at all. I'll get back to that, first I have related question for you and others. Years ago I used Chanca Piedra tea for Horrible long-standing Urethral Itching and Burning. It burned like hell for a week or two when I was drinking it, but then the problem was better for years! I'm considering using that now... but a post here told another woman not to use CP in the case of low calcium. I don't know if that applies to me, I had osteopenia in a my last test maybe 10 years ago and I have hypothyroid like the other woman. I would only use Chanca Piedra for a limited time. I think I'd need to take Pyridium at the same time as CP. I wonder if that would be my best option?
Doing a gallbladder flush has other problems for me... drinking that much grapefruit juice or lemon juice would make my urine Very alkaline, prob 8.5 or more (on test strips) and that makes my urethra burn like hell, but again I could take Pyridium to help with that. But another concern with the flush is all of the olive oil. Based on my recent reading, I believe that by kidneys and liver are struggling, however, they're not bad enough for it to catch the eye of my doctor on my blood tests. I don't know how hard all of that oil my be on those organs. With either of these two options, I'll just have to go through some difficulties. My main concern is the long-term effect for my body. I dont know if either of these would be my best option?....but either might be good.
I've been doing alkalizing with just bicarb & a little good salt in water.(It is easy for my body to get too alkaline with usual alkalizing. Plus im trying to use alkaling solution to replace anti-acid med...its tricky...i dont yet know enough about it...if any suggestions, please chime in! )...pain in feet is a little better, that is nice. I have been using water & juice, as talked about, from soaked uncooked okra to help kidneys. A few days ago I ordered some Tudca, a type of bile salt that you may be aware of, it may help with digestion. Other options im considering for kidneys, liver, etc... tea like roibos, milk thistle, dandelion, or chicory. I have money to buy supplements, but many things irritate stomach or urethera.... with urethera I do not know if its clearing stuff, or just inflaming. I tried couch grass but it proved to be irritating to the stomach after 2 cups in 2 days. Oh well, there are other remedies.
As far as PT, long story, but I now really think the body is deficient of nutrients, that was recently confirmed, at least In Part when I discovered transdermal magnesim, I can feel the muscles relax. From various recent info, Currently I think the pain is largely digestive probs that caused a shortage of vitamins & minerals, as in Dr.Berg video Diet for peripheral neuropathy.I would really appreciate suggestions about possible remedies!
Dear M to M I've been reading info from EC for the last 2 months and noticed some of your other posts, aren't you a dear sweetheart! What would you suggest for me?
Thank you much to all! I think now and have always thought that there are solutions out there and Inside for me,

Dear Denise,Regarding the gallbladder cleanse....
Does pineapple juice cause you to be very alkaline? I have used it instead of grapefruit or lemon juice. It is actually the tastiest way, I think. Also, if your liver is struggling, the gallbladder flush may be helpful. It is sometimes called a liver flush. Because, I believe, stones back up into the liver. So the cleanse is good for both gallbladder and liver. Before I did the gallbladder flush I think I read every page here at earth clinic multiple times to get comfortable with the idea.
I too was concerned about all of that olive oil at once. I had to be careful about high fat foods because of a fussy gallbladder. But the olive oil was not a problem for me. I think you cannot substitute other oils, even coconut oil.
Another thought regarding the urethral burning - red raspberry leaf tea. It is helpful for women for the urinary system as well as the reproductive system. Dr. Christopher also has a Bladder/Kidney tincture that might be something to look into.
You have already tried many things and read so much. I am glad you are not giving up. I hope the answer is around the corner!

Dear Mama to many, thank you so much for your excellent information, and encouragement too! Wonderful. I don't know about the alkalinity of pineapple juice, that's an interesting idea. Don't know if I need to get be concerned about the candida in sinuses & throat with such a sweet juice afs pineapple, b9ut it would be just that brief time, Maybe it would be ok. I like the idea that you read a lot & studied everything before you took any action. I Love that the gallbladder cleanse worked great for you! Thanks also for the information about red raspberry leaf tea, and Dr.Christopher's tincture.Bye for now, best wishes to all, Denise
