African Journey Preventative Treatment?

Posted By Shakti (Chicago, IL) on 01/19/2007

I am traveling to Africa in a few weeks and I don't want to take all the frightful vaccinations that are required for travel. I went to Africa back when I was in college and didn't take anything except a yellow fever shot and homeopathic malaria tablets and was fine, in fact I was the only person on my trip who didn't get sick. But now things are a little different, I'll be traveling with my 3 year old daughter whom I've chosen not to immunize for personal reasons. Most people have nothing but horror stories about traveling to so called third world countries, death from known diseases like food and waterborne diseases, ramped Hepatitis , Malaria, and Yellow Fever, Rabies, Typhoid fever, Measles, Polio and Tetanus-diphtheria just to name a few. So they urge you to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate! But are ALL these vaccinations necessary? And are they helping us more than they are hurting us? I will reluctantly get the vaccinations for my family if there is absolutely no other way, but I'd much rather find a natural alternative to keep my family safe while over seas. So in a nut shell my question is simply, "Is there a such thing as natural or alternative vaccinations?" Although I am a bit desperate, I know if anyone can help me, you all at earth clinic can! Thank you in advance for your help.

I have the same question, as I am traveling out of the country soon, and do NOT want to have these vaccinations.
