Are Rose Petals Harmful to Dogs?

Are "rose petals" harmfull to dogs? When my roses shed the petals on the ground, if my dog decided they smell good to eat, would they be dangerous. She is a 60 LB Pit Bull. Thanking you in advance, Sincerely, Nada

To Nada from Alvaa, Fla. Since rose petals are considered safe for us two-legged animals, they should also be edible for your little two-legged buddy.
