My friend has interstitial cystitis and I have heard fabulous reports of drinking your own urine to heal the body. Is this something you have ever heard of in trying help with this diseases flare ups?

It is not one of the cures listed at Earth Clinic, thus far.

To me it is counter-intuitive to ingest urine when you are dealing with an infected bladder.

I would look here and read these pages and see what else you might try.

Sherry (Thousand Oaks)---

EC has a special section on urine therapy but for cystitis you could make tea from cilantro or as Ted advises, take a good teaspoon of real salt. Or a high dosage of vit. C. Also, a drop of high % of frankincense over the bladder may do it.

Drinking your own urine is the supreme way of curing anything but ignorance is an unfortunate obstacle. Shivambhu Shastra - healing with urine therapy gives a superb comprehensive insight if people just cared enough to google it.

Best wishes, Namaste Om

I have taken instillations with heparin and kenalog, sodium bicarbonate, sterle water and lidocaine does help. Drinking alkakine water which they make pitchers that change regular drinking water as you need to stay completely away from acids such as juices of any kind. Spicey foods, cola, caffiene...coffee and coffee ...chocolate...tomatoes and ect. I am still learning......
