I read recently where a mother fully breastfeeding her baby was consuming dairy as per usual but this was causing big problems for her infant. She stopped ALL dairy for the duration of the breastfeeding and the baby overcame any problems he/she had immediately. I would think that perhaps it's as easy as you avoiding the dairy for the last few months and see if this has any change in your baby. Good luck.Replied by Tamara (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) on 02/10/2012
Just to clarify - I have been off all dairy and milk derivatives since I discovered his allergy. He is likely to outgrow the allergy sometime between now and 6 years old, but may maintain some sensitivity to the milk protein or lactose.
I am trying to find alternatives to milk (cow, goat etc) that will provide him with the fat, calories and nutrients he needs.
We will try milk at some point, but since both my husband and I are sensitive to it and generally, milk may not be the best for people, I need to find other options or a recipe to make.

Tamara; My son was allergic to milk as well, I gave him can milk and karo with half diluted pure water or boil faucet water first, later on in his life I gave him powered milk, also there is soy milk but both son and I could not drink soy, then there is dream rice or sub. rice dream all great products. Good luck.
