If I get a water pic or something like that will it help or harm my already receding gum.

In my experience try the following:

- Stop using store bought toothpaste (there are many things in most toothpastes which damage gums)
- Try brushing with sodium bicarbonate in the meantime
- Ensure that you aren't brushing too hard (this can cause further inflammation and damage)
- Using your finger apply pressure to your gums and gum line and massage well at least once a day

You can try making a toothpaste from castor oil, sodium bicarbonate and some peppermint essential oil a few drops of clove oil (not too many or it will burn! ) this will be anti-bacterial and will help restore your gums and reduce any inflammation.

When you massage your gums, you can do it with a little castor oil if you wish. Ensure that enough pressure is applied that you feel it, but not enough that it causes pain or damage. By massaging your gums it will encourage them to bond better with your teeth.

It might not be the answer to the question, but I hope it will be a solution to the problem.
