Why Does Apple Cider Vinegar Trigger a Herpes Outbreak?Posted By Suzy (Indiana) on 12/12/2015
I want to take the vinegar but each time I get herpes quicker than the last. Is there something I need to change? I have asked this a couple of times but have never gotten a reply. If anyone knows why or has had the same experience please post. I love all the benefits of the ACV and really want to get back taking it daily. the last four times I tried I had an outbreak within three days.
Help, please. Thanks to all you good people.

Detoxification is a broad subject so go to that section under "remedies" here on E.C. for more info. As for right now, Supplement Lysine and Vit-C/MSM. Other natural remedies or antibiotics like Garlic, Oregano, Echinacea, Oregon Grape will help clear infections.

I think you get herpes due to the acidity of ACV, if you take it with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda according to Ted's alkalazing remedy then you won't get herpes at all.
I tell you this tip from my own experience. I get herpes whenever I eat sour food for example sour oranges, sour grapes, any sour fruit, soft drinks 7 up etc
.Eating salad with white vinegar gives me next day an outbreak. Whenever I eat sour food I drink milk or eat cheese high in Lysine to avoid an outbreak.
My husband drinks daily two tablespoon of ACV with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and never has had herpes. But I could not take this combo because it causes me frequent urination at night.
Instead of ACV, I take lemon juice with baking soda for alkalizing and eat two three apples daily. And one thing to remember the taste of this drink ACV +baking soda must be neutral not sour. I hope this helps you.
