What Will I Notice If the Nail Fungus Remedy Is Working?

I have had nail fungus on my right pinky toenail for just over 5 years now. It has obviously gotten worse over that time and now it covers the whole pinky nail. This is partly my fault because while I have tried many home remedies like vicks, tea tree oil, Apple Cider Vinegar both topically and internally, as well as over the counter fungal creams I stay with it for awhile then I get lazy and then the fungus would get worse. Well finally I have been staying on top of it for about a month or so and I do believe it may be getting better. It doesn't itch anymore and the skin around the nail seems to be improving. My question is what other signs of improvement will I notice if in fact it is working? Cause I do realize the nail itself will take several months to a a year to fully grow out. Thanks!!

Hi there, I have had many patients that have suffered with nail fungus for multiple years as well. Many of them try these home remedies, topical solutions, and oral medications also, but in the end they all ultimately fail. Although pills and topical solutions were always the most effective way, the pills require frequent blood tests and cause liver toxicity and the topical solutions, like you said, are something you get tired of using. At the office I work at, we offer patients with this issue the laser option called the PinPointe FootLaser. We have treated a number of patients that are satisified and the best part about the treatment is it usually only takes one treatment for the fungus to be gone forever! Here is the site that can give you more information: lasernailtherapy.com
