What remedy is best for open cold sore

Re: Acetone. Ahhh OOuch, (??) I think what "they mean" is use the acetone on the "clear skin covered cs, and/or the first sign of cold sore". I have had one for a week-it will & did "pop" and now who would apply Acetone to an open cut? Not me. Would someone clarify. I don't think it's bad if the sore is closed-It might have "tiny" holes on it (so watch out) you can tell because if your turn slightly looking in a mirror-it will apear shiny/wet.

What does anyone apply (home remedy")to a cs after it pops?It hurts like hell cleaning with a q-tip never mind adding-soap, or mind numbing acetone.

We always used clay-mixed-with-water for any open sores. Firstly, it takes away the pain. Secondly, it heals it pretty quickly, but yes, it's ugly!!

Tea tree oil applied at first "tingle" keeps it from even breaking out. Two or three times a day for a couple days does it. Can be applied neat, undiluted, or a couple drops mixed with a couple drops of a base oil such as Jojoba, grapeseed, coconut, even olive oil. If you want to prepare some for future use: mix about ten drops per ounce of base oil. Jojoba is the only oil that will not go rancid so if you use a different one refrigerate or use within about 4-6 months (depending on oil chosen).

I apply a drop neat right to area of tingle. You can apply to inside of lip if desired but beware it does not taste good and makes your tongue feel kind of weird if you lick your lips right away. Just a few minutes for it to absorb and it is fine and the weird feeling goes away pretty quick. It is safe, and effective, to brush teeth with. Do not ingest. Stops break outs immediately or within a few days if not caught soon enough. Can be applied to open sores. It helps dry up drainage and kill virus. Reduces frequency in time as well.
