What remedies would help dandruff and inflammation on scalp

Posted By Shortwoman (Boston, Ma) on 12/21/2014

I am new to this website. I am diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (inflammation of colon) 7 months ago. About 3 months ago, I am diagnosed with Blepharitis (inflammation of eyelid). Now my scalp shows dandruff like flakes, constantly itchy and tingling feeling. Must be inflammation in scalp. What remedy can I use? Please help! I am tied of all the health issues that I am facing.

Dear Shortwoman,

You are suddenly having many new ailments and they are all inflammation. Have you had any changes in the last year that could be causing this? (Living or working in a new place, change in medication or supplements or dietary changes?)

Turmeric is my favorite anti inflammatory. It would be my first thing to try. One teaspoon (Or 4 capsules 3x a day) Always take with plenty of water. Start small and work up to that amount as long as it does not disagree with you.

After trying a lot of things the thing that worked the best for me was to wash my hair and use conditioner everyday maybe even twice a day. I tried lots of things but the only one that worked for me was Suave( I don't sell this) Daily Clarifying shampoo and the Daily Clarifying conditioner. Nothing else worked as well. I ise Dial soap on my face (it cleared the eyelids, and around the nose, and between the eyes and eyebrows. It takes time to remove this once it has happened. I found trying to do it too fast caused more problems like excema with rashes. But in about a week you will see your eyes looking good and your hair you need to just monitor and stay ahead of it. I don't like using strong things like vinegar rinses as they are just too strong for many people. I assure you the shampoo I mentioned is going to clear you. I also wash out my brush one in a while with hydrogen peroxide, dry it with the hair dryer and that also really helps. Just some in the sink with water let sit a bit, scrub it with a pic or comb and dry it. Wash hair before bed, wash again in morning or late morning if you can and soon it will feel good again.
