What Does Five-Wire Guided Partial Mastectomy Surgery Mean?

Posted By Sam S (Vancouver, BC) on 11/09/2020

Hi,

I was diagnosed with a cancerous breast tumour a week ago. I saw the surgeon today who told me my options. She wants to do a lumpectomy followed by radiation. I made it clear that my lifesyle and view of the world was holistic and I would not contemplate chemo or radiation. She said in which case she would recommend a mastectomy. I said an outright ‘No’, that I would not do anything so violent to my body.

It’s been a month since I first discovered my lump, so I’ve given some thought to this and have been reading up as much as I can on what I do to help myself with regards to my diet. I agreed to a lumpectomy and told her the rest would be in my hands. From her silence on this, I had the impression she thought I was insane. I has no sense she had any sympathy or real recognition of naturopathic alternatives. I feel a naturopathic doctor would be better for me, but I cannot afford to see one.

I live in Vancouver, Canada, and we have free healthcare here, but, unfortunately, it covers only conventional medicine and treatment, not naturopathic alternatives. Once upon a time out coverage did include alternative medicine, but I’m can only guess that conventionally-trained doctors were losing out with more people preferring to see holistic doctors and so alternative therapies coverage was stopped.

And so I’m left with the Internet as my resource to aid in my self-healing and welcome hearing from anybody who’s been down this path.

I have my surgery in two weeks, which is listed as PARTIAL MASTECTOMY (I was assured that’s what a lumpectomy is called) FIVE-WIRE GUIDED.

Could anyone explain what FIVE-WIRE GUIDED means? I asked the surgeon and she simply said it helped her in removing the tumour. But I’ve learnt from what other people I know have gone through that doctors don’t always fully explain things, or tell you if there could possibly be any drawbacks or issues.

I really want to know I’m making the best choice and would appreciate any feedback from anyone out there.

Cheers,
Sam

Hi, my friend had a lump in her breast removed which was diagnosed as cancerous about 3 years ago. She followed the suggested 10 day protocol in the book “Sodium Bicarbonate by Dr. Mark Sirius who relates the story of a man with prostate cancer who the doctors could do nothing more for. This man figured out this process of raising the body’s alkalinity by taking a graduated amount of unsulphured blackstrap molasses and baking soda and was cancer free at the end of 10 days.

My friend did this also and after 10 days at her oncologist appt. the doctor told her - ten days ago you had cancer and now you do not, what did you do? And she told him and he said well I cannot say that that is the reason but would you email me the name of the book?

This is a very simple, inexpensive protocol. I hope you will try it, God Bless.
