What Could Cause Bleeding and Cramping Mid Cycle?

Posted By Ky (Worcester, Ma) on 09/12/2016

I've been have weird cramping and dark pink discharge for the past three days. My menstrual cycle is not suppose to start for another 11 days and I have a VERY regular cycle. I have had weird cramping on and off for a couple years and every time I go to the doctors they don't find anything. It's becoming very frustration.

I had similar issues and they resolved when I balanced my hormones. I suggest getting a blood test checking on estrogen and progesterone specifically. I was estrogen dominate and VERY low on progesterone. I supplemented with DIM and progesterone cream and it helped immensely. I do still sometimes spot if I get really off track with supplementation.

Dear Ky,

When you say that you have had weird cramping on and off for a couple of years but they do not find anything, is that cramping during your period or at another time?

Have you had an ultrasound and blood work done?

There are many different causes of "breakthrough bleeding" or bleeding mid cycle as you are experiencing, including miscarriage, infection, uterine problems, side effects from different birth control methods.

Also, do you have any other health problems or take medications? Would you be near menopausal age?

Meanwhile, if the bleeding becomes worse or you run a fever, you should get medical attention.

I am sorry - I have more questions than answers. I am hoping with more information, someone here might have some ideas as to the cause and solution of your problem.
