Could Candida Overgrowth or Diabetes Be Causing Vaginal Itch?

Candida overgrowth? Diabetes?

I was very ill for almost 7 1/2 weeks. I think most was do to stress and anxiety but then actually fell sick due to lack of eating. I started feeling more like myself and made myself eat something small with protein. Then worked my way up to a regular diet. The first time I had a reaction was when I ate potatoes. The next time it happened was when I ate bread. Every time I eat even a bite from either I'm itchy feeling. Mostly the entrance to my vagina, not the outside, there's zero discharge and very dry and light->medium red. I've abstained from sex for over 6 months at this point and have been tested. So I don't believe it's an STD. Is there a possibility that it's sugar and starch from either thing causing Candida?

I won't find out from my doctor until the middle of next month. Her nurse didn't seem concerned and said we can do labs next month at my annual. She asked about soaps and told me to switch toilet paper. I have but I'll be fine for a few days and then it's back. Baking soda baths seem to help calm the itching for a handful of days at a time.

Any help or advice would be great!

Hi Leash...It's more than likely that your problem is candida. I can't tell whether it's systemic or local candida and the doctors aren't much at diagnosing either form. But if you've had this problem come and go over the years and its never gone awway completely then the candida is probably systemic because it can hide in the body in all sorts of ways.

Whether you have candida will depend on many factors, and not least whether you have taken antibiotics in the past at any point. My bet is that you did. Antibiotics are probably the major cause of most serious systemic candida issues because it competely destroys your gut protection and gut immune system -- destroys your protective bacterial microbiome in the gut.

The best way to find out if you have serious candida issues is just to take Dr William Crook's Candida Questionnaire. The results will tell you whether you have candida or not. This will be more reliable than a doctor's diagnosis.

If your doctor does diagnose you with candida issues, then he will likely also recommend you take antibiotics. You must avoid antibiotics at all costs if you have candida issues. If you take antibiotics this will only make the candida stronger and it will grow and become much worse.

Your best bet, if you have candida, is to take a full multi-protocl like this one if you have candida.
